What?
I have a whole nother novel in me? What?! I'm gonna probably participate in NaNo? WHAT?!
Okay, first off, no updates, because I have yet another debate due tomorrow evening. Then I think my professor is leaving town again, which means I'm free to write tomorrow night/Sunday. So I'll have an update then.
Second off, apparently I have a whole nother novel to write, even though I was totally not planning on it.

Getting caught up...
Thankfully, I had a nice little plot bunny come and visit me for the past few days, giving me plenty of ideas and boosting my word count at the same time! I feel less stressed about this whole thing than I have the past week or so, which is good. Here's to hoping it lasts, right?

I'm putting it all under the cuts, in the interest of people's flists. All of these are JulNo 08 specific, and those of you who haunt the forums have probably already seen most of them. But in the interest of those who do not have myspace (Sorry, amandalynn125!) I'm posting them here also.

You see, despite having crossed the word count finish line, what strange and rambling plot I do have is far from finished. So, instead of racing my words, I now race against time!

And my arms falling sleep. *Prods them* Clearly, I need a taller chair. Or something. Cause this hurts.

Oh! And an excerpt. This one is mostly dialog. Cole is explaining Marilyn's job. Tiss and Vonner are pondering some more likely (And somewhat bluer) uses for modern technology.

Day of Doom!!!
Wow. So I worked eight hours straight for my dad today. 10-6. Fuunnnnn. But luckily, last night George, the MC of my last kind of section, was like "rawr! You are not falling asleep vincenza! I will eat your brain and plot out whole scenes word for word until you wake up and write me!" so i ended up writing the first chapter of his section at THREE AM last night, the 2nd chapter of his section today, and i have pretty much his entire section outlined now. so yay!

I R Behind like whoa...
And I feel lousy about it, as this is the first NaNo-type thing I've fallen this far behind on...

I just seem to have no ideas or inspiration right now...I feel like if I could just get that spark, y'know?  I need something I can run wild with, but despite my best efforts, I have nothing.  Such is the life of a writer, I guess.  The musi don't always speak when we want them to, do they? :)

So...yeah...here's something I've been poking at all month...it's causing a great headache, but...there be boy/boy loving in this, so...fair warning...it's mild though... :)

Yay!
Finished Kim's section! Finally! *dance dance dance* It's taken me, like, a week. But I finished it! *dance dance dance*
So, now I'm on to sorta-unnamed-adorable-boy-last-whole-section section. ^.^ Right now his name is George, but I'm not positive. I just lurvul the name George, and I lurvul this character. So. It'll probably end up being George, actually, since, well, I COMMA SPLICE! no, because I'll end up growing attached to the name and it'll stick. Anyway, he's the last whole section character, so yay almost done! There's this mini-section after the last section, that has to do with this whole plot device thing. But that'll only be one, two chapters max. So George is the last full section. Yay!

Doing Better-ish :)
I wrote about three thousand words today, which makes me happy. I'm still nowhere near on the perfect track, but I'm not so frustrated with myself or my writing or the world. This has been a good month for me in that way. I'm making discoveries about when and how I write best and all that.

I probably would have written anouther thousand words or so today, but I've just discovered that one of my new guppies has had babies. (I knew she was pregnant from the size of her belly.) The little tykes are so cute and tiny and distracting. I keep on going back over to see how many therea re and where they're hiding and everything. I'm excited to see them grow. Yay for guppies :)

Now it's Saturday, though, and it's a new day to write another batch of words. Hoping to cross the 20K line. Woot!

Bittersweet bit here today
Well YAY my brain doesn't hurt today!! Alright! And now I'm only one chapter away from finishing Kim's section, so that is super awesome. So the section I wrote today is a little bit bittersweet, because there's this bit where Kim is rowing a 2k on the ergs, and I was in crew up until winter break last year. And I totally miss the girls and the competition and stuff, so this section made me kind of sad. :-(

I totally don't have a brain tumor...
But who knows. I might. Damn headache. Had it all day today too, so I ended up sleeping most of the day and trying not to read things. I have to wear reading glasses because reading strains my eyes and gives me headaches, so that last sentence made sense. I might need a stronger prescription or something, I have been staring at this dang computer for 17 days straight.
So I got like, 500 words written. Wow. Awesome. Blegk.
I did go see the Dark Knight, which was AMAZINGEVERYONEGOSEEITWHOA!!!
So I'm feeling really energized and ready to get some serious writing done tomorrow, even if I have to close my eyes to do it.
Okay wow my eyes are already starting to hurt again and I'm typing this part with my eyes closed. So a quick excerpt and then I'm gone.

lame title

well a new character popped up around the 28,000th word, which is good coz' the storyline i had wasn't going to do it for 50,000. and since i'm nearing the end of the story i thought now would be a good time to find a title and i got nothing. Lost at Sea is the only title that's coming to mind, though since its a trashy romance, i'm tempted to just snag one like Pirate's Promise (yes i read it, liked it) or PIrate's Love (read it and hated it!!!). i didn't get as far as i wanted coz' i'm feeling a little bummed. got rejected from two publishers. i swear that's not allowed to happen in the same day. well upward and onward as they say.

now as i'm nearly to the finish (though i haven't planned out the end entirely, there may be one twist left!!!!), i really want to go back, touch up, and flesh out. i will RESIST the temptation!!!!!! yep, i'm just a little tired at the moment.

good night

Headaches WRY?!
OW. So I've had a headache all day for no reason. Blegk. Not a migraine or anything, since I don't get those. It's probably an eye-strain headache, what with all this staring at a computer screen, I may need to upgrade my reading glasses prescription. Awesome...
So, got some writing done. Not as much as I wanted, but I'm gonna try and finish up this section tonight over the next hour or so. I'm about 3 1/2 chapters into Kim's section, and my sections generally run 5-6 chapters, so it's probably doable. And after Kim, I've only got 1 more full section to go. And I really like the character in the next section, he's such a sweetie. So I'm excited about writing him.

Little Late Update
56,861/50,000
Oops, was so tired after all-star game that I went to sleep without posting an update ^.^ Oh Well.
Well, for some reason Kim's section is being difficult. My problem is figuring out the main action that occurs before the climax action. Also I'm not sure the "moral" of this section, because this section is my current life and I personally don't see anything wrong with it. There is, and it's something along the lines of 'stop and smell the roses', but I need to think of a non-retarded way of saying that, since that saying pisses me off and I rebel against the concept. Burnout may be a good argument...
Anyway. So I managed to complete the first chapter of Kim's section, by some miracle. There is soooo little dialog though, it's just her walking around going to classes and junk. The first chapter is basically "a day in the life of", you know? Whatever, I'll fix it in editing. Anyway, main problem now: need something else to be going on besides Kim just wandering around her life.

Well, I haven't been doing a whole lot of writing... less than 1000 words since Saturday (where I did manage almost 5K, though I wasn't doing Wriday). Sunday was mostly spent getting ready for the trip my family and I are taking, so I didn't have much opportunity to write then. Yesterday, I was working until 3, and we left for our trip right after I finished with work. I managed to get a little computer time as we were driving through Denver, but the motion started to get to me, and I didn't really pick up my computer again until 11. I did a mini-sprint, and managed to get 600 or so words written, so the day wasn't a complete waste.

I'm a bit stuck on what I really want to write about next. I still have some stories from college to write about, and I can probably add a few stories elsewhere, but I'm not sure I can manage another 17000 words or so. We'll see, I suppose. I have plenty of time to figure it out yet.

Oops. Burnout.
Not bad burnout though. ^.^ I didn't write at all yesterday, sorry. After Wriday Sat, I was a little bit burnt out. I almost didn't write today, but I made myself at the last minute. Certainly not a ton of words, but that's alright. It was something.
So, Kim's section is starting to take shape. I just realized I need to plan out her month's schedule so this chapter makes some sort of sense, which'll be fun for me because I like organizing and planning things.
WC: 54,290.
Also, a friend of mine that was in training to be a priest for a while just helped me with one of my previous sections, Tobias'. So that was fun. He seemed to enjoy it and didn't have any major criticism of it, other than fleshing out my theological arguments where I was a little weak. Which was exactly what he was supposed to do. So yay!
