That's not a woman's kimono ^.^;;; It is what preist and teachers, and most men, wore back in the heian period ^.^;;; but he should wear a kimono again ToT

But the sleeves! Aren't those only worn by women after the age of 18 or marriage?

^.^;; iie~ In that particular outfit the sleeves are usually long. Unfortunately I really have no pictures saved to back this up. Uh.. unless you count Sai from Hikaru no Go ^.^;;. In the kimono though, i think it is the young, unmarried girls that have long sleeves though, isn't it? ahh, but that's off the subject of Gackt, so i'll be quiet now, ne~ ^.^;; -hides-

heian clothing for men and women consisted of long sleeves, if you read poetry of the period much of it consists of men weeping into their sleeves, etc. simply a style of the time, not gender specific, however there was an emphasis on women not being able to show their faces in the heian period, often only showing their sleeves. but, this isn't to say men didn't have long sleeves as well.
the more you know.
