Hey guys! I just wanted to give my fellow Torontonians a heads up - the show is now completely sold out on Ticketmaster. But if you don't have a ticket or know someone looking for a ticket, don't fret! You can still get tickets (cheaper price, also!) from Rotate This or Sonic Temple. Do NOT pay $275 on TicketsNow (I still can't believe people would dare charge something like that!)
See you guys at the show! :)

so for those of us who ordered the tgp vinyl... is it worth opening?? cause i mainly bought it as a collectors item type thing, but i'm curious as to what is actually inside but my dad was all like "it'll be worth more in the long run if you don't open it" but something tells me it wouldn't be worth very much anyway. idkkkkk!

[ Sunday

I read on Wiki that for the Hammers and Strings tour the band is planning to play the whole album. Two questions:
Do you think this will include Miss California since it's a bonus track, I've been arguing with someone over this.
and
Do you think they're play at least the singles off Everything in Transit? If not more ... hopefully ... D:

| Religious References in TGP |
[ Sunday
October. 5th, 2008, 12:05pm
] |
Maybe I'm overthinking this, but I feel like there's more religion/God references in TGP than have ever been in Andrew's albums. There's multiple references in Drop Out - And we won't wake up on Sunday So I'm building us a church Where we can sleep in With the gods at work
Til then I'll turn you to the new religion We're dropping out into the so unknown
And I'll give you this confession, I am taking you with me. (it's a stretch, I know, but in context with the rest of the song?)
Caves - The marrows collide in rebirth In God's glory praise The spirit calls out from the caves.
And of course our favorite from Miss California - I called Jesus but he didn't check his phone today &
I called Jesus but he heard I hurt his little girl
What do you guys make of this? It seemed so out of left field I don't know what to think about it. I feel like he's never talked about religion before, and it's nice to see this other side we maybe never got a chance to/he's just discovered.
Anyway, your thoughts?

Sleazy Wednesday- JM |

Hello everyone! I'm Vicky... a [huge] SC/JM fan from the east coast :) I'm sure I know a lot of you here, considering i've met most of my good friends through Soco& Jack's shows. It's awesome. I usually don't use message boards, but recently joined livejournal. Just wanted to introduce myself to those of you who i haven't met on here yet! I currently live in Santa Barbara, CA for school. I'm from Long Island, NY though.
Also i had a request you guys might be able to help me out with: For halloween, I am going to the San Diego show off the H&S tour, and i'm dressing up as my favorite dude, DR. J :D However, i need a little help finding a picture where you can see Jon's usual celtics outfit (jersey, shorts, knee socks, nikes, sweatband, arm bands, etc). I have most of my photos stored at home, so having a hard time matching his outfit. If you can post some pictures for me that would be great!
Thanks & Nice to meet you guys :) - Vicky

| Pre-Order Concerns |
[ Friday
October. 3rd, 2008, 7:29am

I just wanted to know if anyone else who ordered the vinyl (or the vinyl and another package TOGETHER, as in on one order) is having trouble regarding the shipping of their purchase. I received an email saying they were delayed, but the delay doesn't seem to have abated. ( Details/Story under cut )
EDIT: I just spoke with GoMerch. If you're having trouble, I recommend calling them. (It's 4.10 on the West Coast,s o you have another hour or so before the weekend!) He informed me all packages of vinyls were sent out WEDNESDAY MORNING. I told him how my tracker wasn't reflecting that and he's like I'm seeing the same thing you are, and then he told me he'd give the UPS a call, and that it's possible because of the high volume, they might not have updated some of the trackers.
So the point of this is, all vinyls should have been sent out Wednesday morning, and it's possible that your tracker just wasn't updated. I'm getting a call back in an hour or an email explaining what's up with mine, so calling them is a good idea!

Ok so I really want to know everyone's reactions to the new album, so I came up with a bunch of questions. Feel free to discuss :]
1. What are your top three favorite songs from TGP? 2. Any least favorite song? 3. What are your favorite three lyrics from TGP? 4. What [if any] concert[s] are you going to on the Hammers and Strings tour? 5. What song do you want to hear live from the new album? 6. How has TGP impacted you in the few days it's [legally, anyway :)] been out?

i sit here writing to all of you and i am both happy and sad, torn beyond belief. i have been running this community for about 5years now and its amazing. as jacks continues to gets bigger so does this community which i love and i am so happy that i have created a place where everyone swarms to to get information and we all get along so well, to be honest i have made amazing friends here, best friends who i hang out with even- but unfortunately as we grow it seems that we may be losing our intimate bond. it used to be that everyone knew me and new me well, heck i've been stopepd at various shows "hey you run the jacks lj" etc, and people used to care about what i had to say and be somewhat respectful. now that may seem like i am up on my high horse having a super power trip, but its NEVER been like that...what i mean by listening and being respectful is for instance when i asked for stories to put behind cuts a few years ago people did, and it lasted a lot longer than a week like it did when i did it this year. how about last time i ran the layout contest years ago, my mailbox was overflowing with submissions...this year i got like 4 responses and 1 submission...i had a gift all ready for the winner, yet no one cared. i was mad because i try hard to make this place run smoothly, and it just seems to go unnoticed, i felt like no one cares so why should i and i debated getting rid of this community but i decided not to because i really love it and i do have faith that we can become close again. i hope i dont seem overly dramatic and like i have no life...because i do i work like 30hrs a week and go to school full time plus have a social life, but this has just been my little side project for years now so i am very much invested in it.
so the point of this post is what i'm planning on doing to do is have moderated posting for this community. i tried a bunch of times to kindly tell people to put pictures behind cuts, or not spam us with millions of personal stories, or even most recently my attempt to make one big TGP post, but no one seems to listen or care so moderated posting it is. for those of you who dont know what that is it means when you post it has to go through me first and i'll either approve or deny it. again, its not a power trip...just my attempt to keep everyone here happy and um less annoyed? yea. i'll try to check up quite often so as not to deprive anyone of news but be patient if your post isnt up right away. alright i guess thats the end of my post, hopefullt i dont seem like too much of a bitch, i swear i'm not mean. i just am tired of getting annoyed as well as getting complaints (that i agree with) and then being ignored here. i also hope i dont sound like a rambling illiterate fool or anything like that, but i'm not proof reading this and i just worked an 11hr straight shift and have 3 papers due tomorrow that i need write, so cool haha. so yea despite it what i've written i love you all kiddies, and i hope you're all loving TGP as much as me! i will leave you in the words of mr.mcmahon... "all of this means very little i'm sure, but it felt like something when i sat down to write it. perhaps i've been wasting our time."

so i don't know if this is a dumb question or not but do we know who annie is? i mean there's "annie use your telescope" and then in the bridge of "the resolution" the liner notes say "annie i'm almost home"....so i was just wondering who she is, not from a gossip level, i just have never heard of an annie before, and since his wife's kelly i was just wondering...thanks :)

Tuesday, September 30, 2008 SO MUCH TIME HAS PASSED Category: Dreams and the Supernatural Los Angeles Sep. 29 10:22 am
So much time has passed. I have these moments where I think to myself where are you, who are you, what day is it today? Time is lost on me. It always has been. To me, the most sensible thing about time is that the clock is a perfect circle. I keep coming back here; back to this place, but on a different day and with a different set of eyes. I read an old journal this morning. Nearly by accident, but not exactly. It had been lying there in my closet waiting for a home after a recent unpacking. Before I retired it to the drawer where I retire things, I gave it one last look. A page from another life. Same person, different day, different set of eyes, lighter pressure on the pen. A page full of certainty and also full of questions. It's always strange to read the things you've hoped for in the past because by now those hopes may be spoken for or gone, transformed or altogether forgotten. Like time, hope can be so senseless. It can carry us up mountains or lie us in the quicksand. But like time, hope is unstoppable, inevitable, and blind. Sometimes we travel fast, hurdling towards the unknown, sometimes the unknown comes hurdling towards us while we watch time standing still. All of this means very little I'm sure, but it felt like something when I sat down to write it.
Perhaps I've been wasting our time.
Good morning and thank you to everyone who is or will be checking out The Glass Passenger in the upcoming weeks. Your support is both felt and greatly appreciated. So glad to finally have it reach the light of day.
-Andrew

Think you all might enjoy this, it's a playlist of songs on myspace, compiled by Jack's Mannequin. The title is "Vegas Road Trip" and it includes songs by Tom Petty, The Strokes, Tegan and Sara, and more. Should still be at this address: http://music.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music.celebritypromo
