 | 11:17 pm - Article about Keri Lynn Pratt Hey guys! Long time on see! Anyway, I was reading my f-list and came across an article about Keri Lynn Pratt. If you don't know the name, maybe you'll know the face. She was in Jack and Bobby and she played Jack's preppy girlfriend who went with his mom (I think) to go get an abortion. Anyway, it's a very interesting read so I hope you'll check it out.

 | 06:57 pm - DVDs Hey Jack & Bobby fans.
I was playing around with google a few minutes ago and found this:
Jack and Bobby, Complete TV Series, All 22 episodes, 4 dvds
ETA: rc says this may be a scam, unfortunately. :( Sorry if I got anybody excited.
I squeed for about three minutes, then I went looking around other sites (amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, eBay...) but couldn't find the DVDs anywhere else. As far as I can tell, tvaddicts.tv is the only site that has the DVDs available. Weird, yes? It doesn't say when it was released -- perhaps it's brand new and will slowly become available on other sites...
I'm glad that it's out, though. :D

 | 02:36 pm - Matt Long in a new movie.
Hey, guys. I'm new here. I've been a fan of hte show since it premiered, and watched this community but haven't join 'til now. Anyway, I come bearing gifts! For those fans of Matt Long, rumor has it he's in a new movie starring Amanda Bynes called Sydney White (and the Seven Dorks). Also, for Smallville fans here, the guy who plays Clark's adopted, late dad is in the movie playing Amanda's father. Go fig! Anyway, here's the trailer, that would be the one above the text. ;D Enjoy!

 | 11:37 pm - Brothers & Sisters I don't know if anyone in this comm watches another Greg Berlanti vehicle, Brothers & Sisters, but some of its characters, as well as other "Berlanti actors," are making their way to Brothers & Sisters. One of the semi-main characters now on B&S is Senator Robert McCallister, who has an ex-wife named Courtney. He's running for president, too. He does have a brother, but the brother is named Jason, not Jack.
Other J&B alums on B&S: The chick who played Dex (Bobby's girlfriend) and Keri Lynn Pratt (Missy). Berlanti has also utilized his Everwood ties and cast several actors from that series on B&S as well, including Treat Williams (Andy Brown) and Emily VanCamp (Amy Abbott).

 | 07:17 pm - Complete First Season! I realize this show is quite old now, but my goodness--rewatching the series reminded me just how awesome this show really was. I am so, SO sad they cancelled it. :(
that being said, i do believe you can find the ENTIRE season 1 on www.torrentvalley.com. You obviously need bittorrent, but otherwise it should be easy enough to get. :-) Current Mood: nostalgic

 | 04:53 pm - Ghost Rider trailer For anyone who hasn't seen the trailer for Ghost Rider, you can view it online here.
Matt Long plays Ghost Rider as a young man. I recommend the international trailer, as you see a little more of Matt (though not much) than in the US version. (In the US version you only see him briefly from behind - I wasn't even sure it was him the first time I saw it.) I probably wouldn't see this film if Matt weren't in it, but as it is, I'll likely check it out.

 | 12:36 am - Matt Long cast in ABC pilot Matt Long has been cast in a pilot for ABC, a drama called Secrets of a Small Town. Here's a link to more info from The Futon Critic.
I'd be so thrilled to have Matt back on my TV screen again, but I'll try not get my hopes up until we see if the series gets picked up. The producers are the same people who brought us North Shore so, um, that doesn't give me a lot of confidence that this will be a great show. But we'll just wait and see!

 | 09:21 pm - Matt Long in "Ghost Rider" Entertainment Weekly has reported that the release of comic-book movie Ghost Rider, in which Matt Long plays the title character as a young man (Nic Cage plays him as an adult), has been pushed back from July 2006 to February 2007. Grrr.
Do we know what else Matt has been doing since J&B ended?

| 07:53 pm - Jack n Bobby No more! I feel like a major idiot. I've been waiting around for the third season premier of Jack n Bobby; after waiting around like an obedient dog, seeing all these new shows popping up everywhere, I realized that Jack n Bobby was canceled. I text my little sister about the cancellation, thinking she was bummed out too, she text me back "Freakin LOSER". Dammit, that show was good, now I'll just wait for it to come out on DVD.

 | 03:36 am - Discovered it just months too late... Hey all, After devouring all the television that the 2004/2005 season had to offer I had a very quiet summer watching reruns of the west wing and trying to figure out what was in the damn hatch in lost. Then, scouring certain sites of questionable legality on the net, I heard about a small show that had just lasted a season before being overun by desperate housewives. I immediately acquired episode one and within the first sixty seconds had fallen in love with it. Jack and Bobby is unquestionably the finest TV that has been made since Joss Whedon stopped scribing for buffy full time. It surpasses anything else I've ever seen and it is unavailable EVERYWHERE. I've managed to see eps 1-4, parts of 5-7 and all of 8 and 11. It's the most frustrating thing ever because I'm a spoiler freak and yet truly do not want to know what's going to happen next. The moment it's release on DVD it'll be on my shelf. Living in the UK, I can't see any channel actually picking it up, especially as it only got a season but I find myself looking into future shows on all our channels here. If any of you guys know where I can find anymore episodes I would be forever in your debt. I've been rewatching the fist few episodes just to satisfy by desperation for more (although the return of all tv has meant I've had some distractions). Still I now have a three week black hole whilst a pile of men play sports and paid far too much money. (no disrespect to sports fans but surely TV could still be aired whilsts the baseball is on another channel... damn advertisers). Anyhow, hello to you all. Great to know this show is not being allowed to die, even if it's just in memory. Take care

 | 09:53 pm Hi everyone. Yesterday the local channel here aired episode 11 of Jack and Bobby: Chess Lessons.
After 11 episodes (although I wasn't able to watch each one of them), I'm still awed. Which only makes me remember how much it sucks that the network cut the series off after a season. I've been reading the transcripts of the past episodes and they're very very elegantly writtten. Like reading from a historical literary work.
Missy still hasn't grown on me. President Benedict has, though. He's a charming and firm mentor for Bobby, along with Grace and Jack. The Grace/teaching assistant thing going made me smile. Okay, maybe more than smile. It was cute, to smile was an automatic reaction. :) Jack is still cute, but by god I don't know why he sticks it out for Missy. But maybe Jack only wants someone who's not as complicated as his mom, the other woman in his life.
My favorite part of every episode is the side stories of these future government officials. It gives dimension to the story. Links the present to the future, or the future to the past, whichever way. Makes the viewers feel like they're witnessing history.
I'm gonna miss this series when it finishes. Hopefully I find a DVD cop of season one somewhere here, although finding it wouldn't be exactly easy. Do you know where I can order DVDs of Jack and Bobby episodes?
Next week will be Lost Boys. Slash and Jack. I don't think Jack is gay, but at least they didn't ignore the issue.:)
Till next week.

 | 10:18 am Hi everyone. It's great to know there's a jack and bobby community here on lj. We've only started on the series last week. The second episode was aired a little while ago, as a matter of fact. I must say by the time Grace spoke on the midnight address, I was just moved to the point of tears. I hadn't loved a series that much since The X Files. There were other great shows of course, Gilmore Girls...Desperate Housewives, Will and Grace. It's just that Jack and Bobby...it's smart and intimate and profound all at the same time.
Sad to read that the series won't be coming back for another season. But I'm trying to be positive about it, and will just be looking forward to another great episode every week. There's a certain sense of novelty in Jack and Bobby, the kind that makes you think and smile and laugh and hope, like after reading a very good book.
Anyway. Yeah. Hi everyone. :D
