Hey all,
Well, Morton media system is officially the sucks. We got through the showing ok (and even on time, too), but the darn projector keeps doing it's warm-up and cool-down modes, blocking me out from using them. Sorry to anyone who might've been annoyed, bothered, perturbed, or otherwise offended by one of the screens displaying something different from what was being shown at sporatic 5 minute intervals throughout the showing. I swear it wasn't me (points to control panel).
Thanks to Molly for the insightful culture note. It certainly made watching episode 2 of Zetsubou sensei all the more enjoyable.
And thanks to Maple, Chizmar and Baker for the support regarding the sucky system.
Our attendance at one point topped out at about 30, and after the first episode of Ippo, the head count was at least 20 the entire time. That is until 11:30 rolled around. This happened in the game room as well, and I think all the projectors in the building just shut off at that time every night. VERY inconvenient. Some people proposed starting a half hour earlier, but here's what I'm thinking:
For one, I think that's too early for the majority of our viewers to make it on a Friday afternoon. I might skip AMVs all together in order to finish up by that time, and then just do a random AMV, etc. showing for the remainder of the time (sometimes people just want to go home, and it reduces the risk of going overtime. Let me know what you think.
Another thing, when we began showing Minami-ke, none of the players on the box would support it well, so we switched over to the school computer, and that's where we ran the rest of the showing. I think I'm gonna try to run a whole showing without the box to see if it's as necessary anymore. I'll transfer what I can from the box to the hard drive of course. We'll see how it goes. Again, any thoughts?
That's all from me. Hope y'alls weekend's going well, and I'll see you at the next meeting!
