| Wiblur's started up a Kibology social network site, and it includes an Interröbang Cartel group. This is just in the past couple days and at this point Wiblur and I are the only ones in the IC group, but it does look like it has decent forum capabilities.
Wiblur's also put an audio player with a couple IC songs on the site's front page.

| | Reverb Nation is a music hosting / promotion site I was just made aware of. Think it might be worth using it for the Cartel? They claim unlimited songs can be uploaded, as long as each is less than 8MB. Haven't read all the fine print yet, however.... | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |

| ...to record a coda to UK Places with 'Z' in the Name:
Well, there's where I grew up in Fazeley, Staffordshire. I remember all the run-ins I had with Headmaster Moon at the old Millfield Primary there. Then we moved to Hazel Grove in Manchester. Mr. Zammit taught me a thing or two at the high school, if you know what I mean. After that I worked at one of the two pubs in Lazonby, Cumbria and dated a girl in Frizington, about 80 kilometers away. Too far, really, now that I think back on it. Too much time on the A66. Spent a little time at Woodilee, in Lenzie, Scotland. Can't remember much, except that weekend I found my way over to Lochranza on the Isle of Arran. That was a right cold hour on that ferry crossing, I can tell you. Let's see, what else. Well, every school child knows that Walton has the Naze, and St. Blazey has the Eden Project. And of course, Penzance has those bloody pirates.
Steve the Bear and I recorded this with our oh-so-awful British accents, but it would be so much better to have the genuine article with right name pronunciations and all that. Feel free to alter the words to better suit the vernacular. No rhythmic pattern desired, just a fellow thinking out loud and reminiscing. | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |

| Apologies to Sheryl, because a dance remix of Online Dating is well beyond the horizon. Apologies to Kerri, because my next project was supposed to be Rock In My Shoe. Apologies to Doctroid, because work on All Roads Lead Away From Rome has hit a speed bump. Because... today I started Washing Crystal Balls, and I'm not accustomed to working on deadline! | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |

So today at work, I had a few hours where I had some free time. There'd been a thread on one of the message boards I follow where people were complaining about the stereotypical "lost it all and singing about it" country music. I decided I was going to write a song along just those lines, and see where it goes.
Here are the lyrics I came up with:
Those Gosh Darn Country Blues

| It's been about five years now since Paddy Smith proposed what has become known as the Interröbang Cartel Tribute Album, and Casey B filled in the details, and Talysman astounded everyone by writing lyrics for all 20 songs, except the instrumentals which he recorded.
Yet back in 2003 Casey told us the Tribute Album had been recorded in 2008 (before falling through a wormhole and back in time). With only 4.5 months left in the year, Casey is dangerously close to being proved wrong: Many of the songs have been recorded, but not all. No wonder Casey hasn't been around lately!
There's only one thing to do: Get busy and record. I believe this list of unrecorded Tribute Album songs is accurate:
* Ham Sandwich Digestion * Monkey Origami * Queen's Blue Peter Badges * Rules Of Naked Petanque * UK Places With 'Z' In The Name * Walking With Woodlice * Washing Crystal Balls
(In addition, alternate lyrics by Tim Chmielewski to "Hedgehog Houses", "Monkey Origami", "Tropical Fish Euthanasia", and "Zebra Races" have not been recorded. These are probably from the Tribute Album in a different time line.)
I'm giving some thought to "Walking With Woodlice", and Major Zed has expressed some interest in doing "Washing Crystal Balls". The other five? Totally up for grabs. As are the aforementioned two, of course: We like multiple versions.
Lyrics, more information about the Tribute Album, and pictures of Marina Sirtis naked may be found on IC's dynamic and up to date web site at http://web.archive.org/web/20060206235406/http://interrobangcartel.com/ . | comments: 12 comments or Leave a comment |

| Please help us resolve our musical impasse in the development of "Online Dating." The debate can be read in the thread page starting at post #150. It basically comes down to one note: should it be a B or an A (or something else, I suppose)? A MIDI with the "A" version is available here.
While we would be interested in people's opinions of which sounds better (because, after all, the ultimate goal is to sound good) we would also like to hear any reasoned arguments for one over the other. Knowledgeable and/or professional musicians especially welcome to comment!

| You are cordially invited to be part of a big choir to fill out the last chorus of "Online Dating"... No, you don't need to be able to carry a tune, because we have the technology to put you in tune. As long as you can keep time and sing the right words, you're good to go! Here is what to sing. For those of you who need a score, see below.
You can send to me (majorzedmusic XXXX at YYYY hotmail XXXX dot YYYY com) in pretty much any format, though WAV is preferred and the more bits the better. Important, however, is DO NOT ADD EFFECTS OR INSTRUMENTS. Just your plain vanilla voice, please.
