This may sound like a really basic question, and I've been able to do this before, but now when I try to make rounded corners, the corners come out very pixelated. 0.0

It's either they come out pixelated and rigid, or it the sides and corners are faded [similar to being feathered] but I never put any feathering at all.
Here's what I did:
Selected all > border: 5> Smooth:20

and I get that blurred effect. I need solidity here. I hope someone can help, thank you! ^.^
