Like to shop? Hey everyone!
My name is Alexandra Olteanu, the PR intern at the Canadian fashion label. Since we are conducting extensive in-house research on the best places to shop for edgy clothes, I thought our community is one of the best places to ask about this. Thought you guys would enjoy participating in our project. All you have to do is tell us what are your favorite places to shop in your city and/or around the world!
Looking forward to hear about your likes.

Radio Golgotha - News & Upcoming Events It has been an incredible first month. We have had hundreds of unique listeners tune in from as far away as Finland, Canada, Hong Kong and dozens from our home base in Tampa, FL. We are particularly happy to welcome out German visitors which have made up almost 20% of our listenership. Now that we have stablized some of the technical launch issues, we will continue to add to our library of albums so that there will new music in rotation everyday including some smaller, but very interesting regional talent. We also have new sets from DJ Devious, Maus and DJ Xanthus set to premiere next week. In the next few months, we'll continue this trend with the programming shifting towards more Djs, more often. You'll hear club sets from England, Germany and all over the US. Thanks for your continuous support!! -Radio Golgotha Staff www.radiogolgotha.comUPCOMING EVENTS

Calling all musicians... Since there doesn't seem to be one yet (that I can find), I have created this.... ukgothmusiciansIt's to help those of us who wear too much black or UV and like to make music, find others who wear too much black or UV and like to make music. Every other forum seems flooded with metalheads and people who still say "Madchester". Seriously, it is not easy finding musicians into our kind of music. So, if you're a knob-twiddler looking for shouter, or a hitter of things looking for a plucker of stringy things, this is the place for you. My apologies, but I'm gonna x-post this like hell. Karn8 Hey guys, Karn8 just got back from a mini tour of north yorkshire, including gigs at The White Room, The Adelphi and Cert 18 and we're still buzzin!! All the gigs went better than I could have ever expected and we sold a loads of CDs and got a lot of new fans I think. Some of the venues were proper filthy punk rock places, so I took a few backstage pics: If you haven't heard of us check us out and let us know what you think! corpse bride on saturday This Saturday the Hull Screen is showing Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride - I know you've probably all seen it by now, but one more time before it goes to DVD won't do any harm, will it? Especially when it only costs £1.50 to get in - you've got to love arts cinemas! Anyway - the details: this Saturday (2006-01-21) at 14:00 (two o 'clock). For those who haven't been, the Hull Screen is attached to the central library in town, so meeting up at around 13:30 in the coffee shop also attached would seem to be called for? Eight Zero - Welly - Friday 13th A bit late, I know, but I've been trying desperately to find out about this one without success.
Welly are doing an Eighties night on the second Friday of every month, but the band-playing list features many top eighties Goth/Alternative bands including The Pixies, Siouxsie, and my old favourites The Miss- er, The Sisters.
I'm going along tonight to find out more. I can't tell you prices or times, only that you get £1 off with an NUS card.
Have a good weekend!

elephant found As vixmonsta posted in uk_goth_music, Kingston upon Hull is going to regain it's Goth / alt night! The last Eating the Elephant was at the New Adelphi in December, 2004, but the next shall be at The White Room in February, 2006. Being a new venue for the Elephant, it's getting the first Thursday of each month, but if it's well-supported it'll be able to go to weekends (so make sure you turn up)! The first, on 2006-02-02 shall see the Screaming Banshee Aircrew return to 'ull. Address of The White Room is 175 Cleveland Street, Hull, HU8 8AZ, though I'm sure you all know it, right? £3 in advance, or £3.50 on the door. netgoth event entryAlso posted (kinda) to my own LJ. ps as mentioned on her post, Vix's share of the profits will be going to charity, beginning with Marie Curie Cancer - more details over on her LJ. requiem, vagueness Holy Trinity Church has regular organ recitals in the evenings. In October this will involve accompaniment by a choir and orchestra, for selected works by Mozart, including Requiem.
Going from memory I think it's on the 17th at around seven / seven-thirty, and costing five quid. If anyone's interested I have an email address somewhere to contact for more details
p.s. would possibly be a good idea to meet in a pub either beforehand or post-recital. I'd suggest Ye Olde White Harte or the Mission, but I haven't been to either on a Monday night. | | Thursday, July 21st, 2005 | 3:46 am [sheridanwilde]

Grave Peril Anyone know anything about this band? I saw a poster for a gig tomorrow (today now - 2005-July-21st) which described them as Horror Punk . There are links between that (sub) genre and deathrock / Goth, so I may go along, though the other bands playing are out-and-out punk.
Diverse Unit says the following:
Grave Peril are... Craig Robson AKA Victor Grave - Scott Dunham AKA Joey Against - Liam Conman - Dale Robson AKA Frankie Valentine - Pictures coming soon...
A listing for the gig can be found on Punk and Oi in the UK
Hull, Ringside
The Mingers + b.s.d + the Infested + grave Peril
ringside, beverley road £3 7.30 start (ish)
Oh, and found a non-existant website, which wasn't very informative.
[edit] In the event the horror punk band weren't there - the line-up that actually played was Bundy and MCD (both from KuH), BSD (from Sheffield) and the Infested (from Leeds). Current Music: Devilish Presley - The Message | | Friday, March 18th, 2005 | 3:30 pm [sheridanwilde]

kinematograf So, the Odeon (last time I checked - Tuesday) only showed Constantine at the weekend, whether it's only next weekend I don't know (and neither do they), leaving the UGC cinema, which I've never been to (as with all Hullian cinemas), but which I also haven't ever even seen. From the map it looks to be absolutely miles out and not-at-all easy to get to. The answer I am trying to solicit (preferably before tomorrow) is whether to bother seeing it in Hull, or go see it in London instead. If the latter then there's always the Invincibles later on in the month (er, week after next I think, but check the Hull Screen website to confirm).
Oh, and Chiquita's kitchen is currently closed, so it's a drinks-only restaurant right now. Current Music: the sound of BBC at the BBC centre | | Monday, March 14th, 2005 | 5:50 pm [sheridanwilde]

cinema Since moving to Hull I still haven't been to a local cinema. Initial expectations were dashed as I realised my closest cinema had just closed, but at least there's still an Odeon an arts cinema (in the library) and some other cinema to the north somewhere (which you can probably tell I haven't investigated too thoroughly).
So as not too seem too sad (going to watch a film on my own) who wants to participate in a mass outing? No particularly Gothic films coming up, to the best of my knowledge so we'd have to settle for Constantine at the Odeon or The Invincibles at the arts place. I've seen the latter before and wouldn't mind watching it again (especially as it means I finally got to see what this library screen was like), though I fear we'd have to put up with lots of kids, it being a means of subsidising the more arty films they show by getting masses of people through the door by showing crowd-pleasers.
There would, of course, be a pub visit following, and maybe a meal somewhere at a not-too-expensive place that would have to have decent vegetarian options (suggestions?) Current Music: Verdi - Dies Irae - Requiem Mass | | Friday, March 4th, 2005 | 6:45 pm [neutron_liar]

Hi everyone, just joined the community with an intention that is somewhat at a tangent. Basically, I'm trying to get an V:TM campaign up and running sometime soon, yes i know that coming here and asking for players for a V:TM campaign is an immense act of sterotyping, but i'm doing it anyway. Anyone interested? yeah, i do live in Hull. | | Friday, January 14th, 2005 | 7:12 pm [mark_boswell] |

Considering the amount of people who ask questions on their LJs you'd have thought that inquisitive or questioning would be one of the default moods. Unless it's just the icon set I'm using?
There isn't one for apologetic either - and the reason I'm saying all this is to apologise for the current colours on this community, and to ask any who read this (currently standing at two, including me :)) to come up with some better colours. The colours currently used are contained in a stylesheet, which I will replace with any suggestion that you lot (or not-a-lot) come up with.
