Petunia Evans absolutely adored her sister Lily. She was prouder than their parents were when Lily received her Hogwarts letter. When both sisters had finished school, they rented a flat together. After months of scrubbing the floor, the sink, the toilet, and everything else that needed cleaning when Lily could have cleaned it all with a simple charm, Petunia realized she hated witches and wizards. She left soon after this realization, breaking up with her boyfriend Peter, thereby leaving him devastated, vulnerable, and hating the Evans sisters.
If Lily had bothered to use cleaning charms, she might still be alive.
