Archiving
Since Greed didn’t say this yet, I’ll just get it out of the way.

The archive’s been restructured (again). We basically destroyed the timeline completely and organized things by topics. This way there is almost no “cannon” and therefore more room for creativity. Hepefully, the new structure is both easy to navigate and flexable. It allows for more than one interpretation of a topic. For example, I’d love to see someone else’s ideas on how the five got together. I’ll do a quick run through of the new structure.



Two main sections: Singles and Plot Arcs. Singles are just that, fics or short series of fics that are not necessarily linked together in a huge plot. After say five or so parts we might more it into the plot arc section. The plot arc section contains links to the sub archives along with shorter plot lines.

Singles: Topics. Singles are grouped according to topic. Topics are alphabetical and in bold; there is no chronological order. At the moment we have 23 subjects. If you write something that you think doesn’t fit in, don’t worry. We’ll just make a new topic. A quick rundown. Most of them are pretty obvious but…

Breaking the Fourth Wall – things like self inserts, characters addressing the comm, ect.
Childhood – dealing with the five’s childhood.
Children – presumably post Riza’s pregnancy. The five and their kids.
Coat – Skyler’s creation.
Comfort – um…characters receiving and giving comfort?
Crack Fic – REALLY out there stuff.
Crossdressing – In which we usually torment Ed.
Death – character death.
Domestic – things primarily dealing with the fivesome and their lives at home.
Echoes of the Past – The five deal with left over baggage. (They have enough of it!)
Envy – anything about the sin.
Formation – versions of the five coming together.
Interaction Outside the Fivesome – The five with their friends/enemies. It has a subsection: Neighbors.
Introspective – A character reflects, thinks.
Mei – things revolving around Mei.
Pets - things revolving around pets.
Platonic/Pre-relationship – interaction between characters before they got together.
Pregnancy – anything from an announcement to a birth. Note: pregnancy plot arcs won’t be here.
Sickness/Injury – a character is sick or injured.
Smut - anything focusing on sex.
Two, Three, Four – pre-fivesome relationships. Pairings are marked.
Unsorted – empty at the moment. This is where things we can’t figure out where to put go.
Wings – the five with wings.

Plot Arcs: Again, arc names are listed in alphabetical order and in bold.
This has the sub-archives for Doubles, LG, Past Revisited (formerly Envy), Progeny and Sun. These aren’t maintained by Greed but rather by forgottenlover (Doubles) kytyngurl2 (PR) and myself (the other three). Sub-archives are basically given to things that are going to have A LOT of parts. If you get over 10 parts or so it’ll probably go into a sub archive.
It also has the Family arc by kalikamaxwell, Images by Greed and the Virtues and Vices arc. Shorter arcs that aren’t going to go on forever.

Series Notes: Pretty self explanatory. This has the notes for HoS main and the two main contribution archives, LG and Doubles. If we create anymore huge arcs, the notes will be added here.

Non fic, Non pic: This is the place for things like color bars, icons, the chat, ect.

At the moment there is no section for Aus. Doubles and LG are really now Plot Arcs since we have basically outlawed cannon. Now, we probably WILL add one since I know some people are considering them. (True Aus that deviate from either the FMA plot line or the A!S one and Aus based off of plot arcs since to be an AU means to deviate from a plot arc, which HoS does not really have).



After reorganization Greed asks that if possible you indicate where you want your fic or pic to go. It can be confusing though, especially separating ‘Comfort’ ‘Echoes of the Past’ and ‘Introspective.’ If you can’t figure it out, give me a nudge. I should be able to help. If you don’t want to bother, don’t worry. I’ll leave archive notes in the comments for Greed. Similarly with summaries, if you have one, put it in the post and we’ll use it. If not, well, you’ll see one of those in your comments too. If you don’t like it, don’t be afraid to ask for a change. I'm just trying to help Greed out since she hates doing them.
