Ron & Hermione FAQ

1. What are some of the nicknames of this ship?
The popular ones used here are: The Good Ship and HMS Heron (Ron and Hermione's names combined).

2. What does OTP mean?
It stands for "one true pairing" or "one true pair." In other words, our OTP is R/Hr. :)

3. "Trees?" I don't understand.
Just like H/Hr's have their "pumpkin pie" slogan, so do R/Hr's. "Trees" refer to the R/Hr pairing being as ubiquitous as the existence of trees all around us. For example: the canon evidence foreshadowing R/Hr is as obvious as trees.

4. But what IS canon?
Canon simply refers to the books. Technically, the movies are not canon because they are derivative of the books, but there is also good evidence in the films.

5. What does "OBHWF" stand for?
"One Big Happy Weasley Family." Usually said in reference to a pairing with a Weasley -- Harry/Ginny, Bill/Fleur, Ron/Hermione. :)

6. What are the acronyms for the Harry Potter books?

Book 1 - "The Philosopher's Stone" is PS.
              - Some use SS for "The Sorceror's Stone".
Book 2 - "The Chamber of Secrets" is COS.
Book 3 - "The Prisoner of Azkaban" is POA.
Book 4 - "The Goblet of Fire" is GOF.
Book 5 - "The Half-Blood Prince is HBP.

1. Ship debates ARE allowed here.

Insulting other shippers themselves is absolutely not. We take certain pride here at honestlyronald about reminding insensitive posters to tone down their language. (Thank you to those who've listened.) Moderators will give a warning first and will then delete posts if necessary. There is no tolerance for bashing.

However, please don't leave the burden all on the mods. If you catch another member being disrespectful to other shippers, exercise some good judgment and try to remind your fellow R/Hr's to be a good example to this community. :-)

Obviously, this rule does not apply to icons. No one in their right minds would censor such things. Honestly.

2. This is a RON/HERMIONE SHIPPER community.

If you dislike the idea of them, kindly find yourself a community that's more to your tastes. And please respect your fellow posters. We mean it. We're not your babysitters and we don't want to have to break up fights.

3. Other Shippers are welcomed here.

That said, people from other ships are WELCOME to post here, but please be respectful of our community and its purpose. With all the friendliness around here, the mods won't bat an eyelash when it comes to banning abusive members.

1. Are we allowed to make icons out of other peoples manips, if we give credit?

You will need to ask permission from the individual manip owners. Mods have no say over such a thing. :)

3. How did this community get its start?

Jess (aka agirlandherguns) began this place and asked Kris (aka agentcabanas) to help out from the day it first started. It was made roughly after the "Prisoner of Azkaban" movie came out. When the uproar over "Half-Blood Prince" was amongst us, dim_54 and dying_stars briefly helped out for a stint.

Thank you, not at this time. :)

5. What are your policies towards trolls?

This might just sum it up nicely. :)

6. Is DYTM also a Rupert/Emma shipping community?

Not necessarily. There are many Rupert/Emma lovers here and that's fine.However, please make note that the core purpose of DYTM is to ship Ron/Hermione...so unless things get REALLY out of hand with the Rupert/Emma business, don't change a damn thing about the way you conduct yourself in this community. We're here to support the actors, too.
