Deputy-Modly Business
So, okay... here's my quandary.

As you may (or may not) be aware, I am not actually the mod for this community. That privelage belongs to

_zela_. She asked me to take over while she went on holiday, and, thinking it would be fun to make up the challenges for a few weeks, I agreed.

That was back in January. As far as I am aware, no one has heard from

_zela_ since. (If anyone has, please, please let me know, as I've been trying to contact her since she left.)

So, I don't mind modding the community, tallying the points, etc. But the thing is,

_zela_ is the only one who can access the community's info, add memories, and all that fun stuff. LJ Support has informed me that there is no way anyone else can get access to that without

_zela_ around to transfer maintainership, unless there is some sort of abuse situation. Which there isn't, because you all are cool.

Basically my question to all of you is: are there any strong objections to me creating a new GO drabble community, one where I'll be able to update the info and all? I know that, as deputy mod, that really isn't my first choice, but it appears that without

_zela_ around, that's the only way anyone will be able to get maintainership of the community.

Thoughts, anyone?

That's weird... As deputy mod, shouldn't you have equal access like

_zela_ to the community? (I'm the owner and co-mod of

sirius_remus100 alongside with

keever, and both of us can make changes to the comm...)

But no, I have no objections to you making a new community. Especially if the community info and other stuff needs to be changed. And if you're looking for a co-mod I don't mind helping out. :D *shameless*

I do find it strange, however, that

_zela_ has just up and left like that... I hope she's okay. O.o

Well... the deputy mod thing was fairly new right before she left in January. I think it eventually would have ended up with me having equal access, except that she never reappeared, and so I've been doing the challenges, but I don't have access to anything else.

And if you're looking for a co-mod I don't mind helping out. :D *shameless*

Honestly? I'm sort of glad you offered and I didn't have to beg for one. ^^ That would be really great, actually, since you're a regular poster, and you know all the rules and all. Just in case I ever go MIA as well. >< How does Deputy Deputy Mod sound? XD

Yeah, frankly I am a little worried. She said she'd be gone for two weeks tops, because they were going on vacation. She posted one entry in her journal about a month later, but has not responded to any of my emails or anything since.

Haha! Deputy Mod sounds fine to me. Count me in, dear. ^_^

	Great. I'm going to work on setting up a new community this weekend; as soon as I figure out how, I'll give you access as well. You don't really have to do anything, unless you'd just like to. Ahh, that bit is easy. All you have to do, once the new community is ready, is go to Manage Accounts and work as user [new GO community name]. Go to Communities and click Community Management. From there click Members. :)

You don't really have to do anything, unless you'd just like to. I just want to be sure this doesn't happen again, and we don't end up with even more GO drabble communities

Oh, I don't mind. :) I was thinking that, if you would like, we could take turns in posting new challenges each week and stuff like that? But you're the boss, so it's up to you how much you'd like me to do. It doesn't bother me either way. *grin*

Absolutely. :)

Also, the only reason I was sticking with one word challenges is because that's the way

_zela_ did it, but with the new community, I'd kinda like to keep up the variety we had going for a while. So if you want, your challenges can be characters, pairings, first lines, or just lines that have to be included... whatever you can think of. And every once in a while, I'd like to give other members the opportunity to come up with the challenges, too, but for now, we can just alternate.

Yeah, I think it would be a good idea to do different types of challenges every now and then. I'm glad that you brought this up, because I was going to ask you about doing something like this anyways. :)

...Also... Would you mind muchly if I, erm, made some changes to the comm's colour scheme (not that it's bad as it is!)? It won't be anything too garish, just something small to keep with the theme...

	Damn! I also forgot to ask if it would be alright with you to have a customised icon made for the comm (I'll have to beg someone on my f'list with Photoshop to make it for me, lol). 	Oh, well, welcome to the community! Don't get too attached. ^^ There is a procedure, but apparently it only applies if there's heavy abuse or spam that requires a mod to control membership, and... well, we're a pretty well-mannered bunch. 	Oh, definitely. That's actually part of the reason I think someone needs access to the user info: I'd like to see all the drabbles archived in the memories, and that would include all the challenges done here if a new community is made. (Reply to this)(Parent)
