This is me, spamming my own comm for another fanart community that might be of interest to any fanartists (and fanart-lovers!)

Basically, it's a fanart version of the Yuletide fic exchange. But instead of only rare fandoms, Yuletart is open to fanart from all fandoms - except for Harry Potter fanart(because it's already so well-represented!).
So if you're looking to join a fanart-exclusive fest and have fun drawing giftart for fellow artists, this is the comm for you!

Notes: This is ooolllllld art. Okay, not that old, apparently done in the summer of 2006. It was a commission for psychobarfly for an RPG of Harry and Draco and there was MPreg and babies and all sorts of things.
I saw these and I was a little taken aback when I found out they were only from last year. From the way I was drawing, I thought it would have been 2004 or at least 2005. I don't think it would be noticable to anyone else, but I find such a change from this to the way I draw now. It's a good change, so I'm pretty happy. Which is why I'm sharing with you and not squirreling this away in shame, ahahah!

COMMISSIONS, wtf?
So right now I've overwhelmed myself a bit, what with raising commission prices, figuring out side projects and completing some straggling older commissions.
On top of that, I have been reminded that I already had a waitlist of people who wanted commissions but commented too late during my last run.
So, how's this all gonna go down?
To ensure quality, interest and retain personal organization, I've contacted the first 15 people off that last run. So far, about ten people have replied with interest.

I still have about 7 people 5 people I'm waiting to hear back on (not counting dear quietrevolution <3!) and I'll give them about...a week to respond?
So in total, I want to keep a constant list of 20 commissions. Once I finish one, I'll contact another person - whoever is next on the comments page - to see if they're still interested.
And then I'll open up to anyone in general. Free-for-all, yay!
Wow, is this making any sense at all? Ahahaha, oh man.

Anyway, what I ask of you is to please try not to email me directly about commissions. It sounds so rude to say that, but it's solely because I don't want to forget anyone, and emailing me directly is a guarantee that I will.
I try to keep organized and I have plenty of folders and things, but. I really am bad at keeping things organized, ehehe! So I'm much better at keeping everyone happy when I know who and when I'm the one contacting you.

After eight years, I have finally done it. I've raised my commission prices. And I've started taking digital art commissions, whee!
I did this for two reasons:
1) This is now my livelihood as I now have no more full-time job, and I need to survive.
2) Even more important than my survival, is that after perusing several other art/fanart sites and talking to a few fellow fanartists, I realize just how badly I've been underselling myself. I wouldn't really care if it was just me, but. If I undersell myself, I'm underselling artists as a whole and making people think that art should come dirt cheap. Frankly, it was simply unfair to my fellow artists to sell my stuff at such ridiculously stupid prices.
I understand that I will lose many people's business because of this; after all, we are a community of students, minimum wagers and people just like me, struggling to survive. I apologize, because it truly pains me that I'm no longer affordable to many of you; believe me. All I hope is that you don't think me self-important or presumptuous for doing this.
Anyway!
What does this mean for those on my old commission waitlist?
Not a thing; they will be charged according to the old pricelist.
Does this mean I'm taking commissions again?
Not quite. Once that waitlist list is complete, I will be opening up for commissions again. So hopefully in a couple weeks! And I know that now many of you won't be able to afford it but I hope you understand why I did this.
What warrants the price change?

Tips and Tricks
Adding a little bit of texture/patterns goes a long way to make a bit of art look detailed and more believable. They can be really simple - the curlies on the wall-paper, the stripes on the pillow, the polka dots on the sheet. Nothing difficult, but definitely more fun for you and the viewer!
