Hey there!
Sorry to bug everyone but I've had good bit of luck in the past here with odd-jobs so I figured I'd post this here:
One of my best friend's birthday is coming up and I'm aiming to get them a really pricey item on Gaia as their gift. They've been lusting after it for a good while but it's still significantly out of reach.
My boyfriend and I are professional web-designers (he's the hardcore coding expert, I handle design, graphics, etc, and minor coding) and we'd are offering our services for private coding, designing, etc, outside of Gaia (we'd offer on as well but the mini shops seem to have the profile-departments covered for us in bulk, lol!). We've previously done side work for gold and was curious if anyone would be interested in hiring us? We have an extensive portfolio available (feel free to pm me for it :D). We most frequently work with:
XHTML, CSS, PHP, mySQL, AJAX, Content Management Systems and ActionScript (Flash), Javascript, Photoshop/Illustrator/Painter/OpenCanvas, and the jQuery Library. We especially enjoy table-free design, hand-coded HTML/CSS, AJAX, User-managed content (CMS Made Simple).
Annnnd that's it! 8D So, if you could help me out in someway I'd really appreciate it (or perhaps recommend us to someone who could use the help?...)

hello all. I've been a member since 2004 (Teddybear217), but as I ever increased my usage of LJ, gaia sort've feel to the wayside, with my only going on to check out collectibles and such (I feel left behind a bit).

So the Aquarium hasn't been released yet, but the aquarium shop, Phin Phang, with the new NPC, Mirai, is open. There's also a mini-comic to give her a bit of a back-story.
Everything in Phin Phang costs Gaia Cash, from what I can see, with no way to buy anything with gold there. Also, the fish have life expectancies ranging from 2 weeks for the 25 Cash fish to 14 weeks for the 299 Cash octopus.

The announcement and Aquariums are out now; apparently some items are Daily Chance prizes and others will be prizes in other games.
Edit 2:
In Pangrammic's journal, he says the DC prizes include fish and decorations not in the shops.

I'm looking for an artist to create accessories/tags/skins to customize some of the items I am selling in my shop Shop Safe.
The items I am thinking of specifically are the pet Spermy and the Open Condom.
This job is ideal for someone who doesn't want the hassle of opening and maintaining a shop of their own, and wants to be able to work at their own pace, rather than trying to keep up with the demands of customers.
Payment per item can be discussed, options will be along the lines of;
1. Payment by item, depending on effort and detail in the item, how much it'll be sold for etc.
2. Set price per item, which will not vary even if item is more detailed or less detailed.
As well there will also be the options of;
1. A flat fee for the item, ie. 500g* once. (*not the set price, prices will be discussed)
2. The artist will get a certain amount of gold per item sold. This obviously is only viable if the artist submits a few pieces, and timing (weekly, biweekly or monthly) can be discussed.
On top of payment, the artist will be listed as an employee of the shop and will recieve a store discount.
This can also lead up to larger jobs in the shop, such as designing an evolving condom, helping out with customs, themed condoms, creating new items etc. if you would be interested.

I am TheMaternal_Nyx on Gaia and I've been there since '04, though I made this new account to get away from troublesome people(using my original account as a mule now). Hey guys, I was gonna open an art shop on Gaia, but my problem is that I cannot color for beans. So I was wondering if any of you cats can do lineless coloring? Like, have a piece of line art, and color it so w hen it's done there are no lines? Sorry if this doesn't make sense.

So, Gaia has expressed an interest in donating to charities. Have I become so disillusioned with a lot of Gaia's items lately, that I even am skeptical about this? It seemed like the poll was a tad bit biased, just making a general Animal category (I know it would have been a lot of options). I just wonder how it's all going to work, etc. I think it's a nice thought, but I wonder if some of the celebrity items will be pushed for this?
Anyways, enough of that. So, what are charities that are near and dear to you?
The ones I chose and I know would never get picked:
Fisher House Foundation and the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. My husband is ex-military and an OIF veteran and just knowing what the families and the wounded soldiers go through always strikes a chord with me, regardless of political stances or issues.

I'm sorry if this sounds stupid.
I've been on Gaia since 2004, but I have never bought any evolving items. There is one right now that I really want, the Enchanted Book. But I don't really get how evolving items work!! If I buy, say, the 8th Gen one, do I get all the poses that were released before this? Or just these ones? I don't really understand. Because I see all the past Generations in the marketplace, but at the end of all of the evolving, don't you just get all the poses anyways?
Very confused. :(

I got the weirdest profile comment the other day.

Gaia keeps turning into a blank white page for me. Anyone else having this issue? It's happening to Thierry in France too, so it's not just stateside nor isolated to my ISP.
