Stamped // Made a layout
Hey guys, I made a new layout for my sister today. I tried out image comment links since I've never done that before. I don't know if the layout looks plain beneath the header or not.. I've been looking at it too long to tell anymore. .__.;

I put it up at my testing journal if you'd like to take a look. Go to [info]reisaeki.
It's a little graphic intense, but I don't think loading should be that bad if my image splicing has worked. Best viewed in 1024x768+.

Also, I had a question. My entry text is all justified. On the friends page it makes the usernames under the avatars look left-aligned. Does anyone have any idea how I can have justified entry text while keeping the usernames on the friends page center aligned? Any help would be awesome. Thank you, [info]aucune_gloire!

Oooh, I like it, which is weird because usually animated headers are teh hate. ^^;

I usually hate animated headers too. They usually look really tacky, but I just had to do the glowing eye thing. XD

Well, like subtle animations are fine, really, but then you've got sparkles and pixels and it's just ugh could you possibly make it tackier? :P

Hmm, I tried both of those codes you said in my overrides, but neither of them worked. Which set of overrides is that code supposed to go under? I tried putting it in GLOBAL_HEAD, FRIENDS_HEAD, and FRIENDS_WEBSITE, but it never did anything. x_x

Alright ma'am. I got your fix as demonstrated in [info]i_bento. It should work the same way.

Okay, go to your universal font face and make sure it only reads:
font,p { text-align:justify;}

If you really want to make sure your friend the username stays centered add this handy-dandy thing: td {float:center;}

If your [] came out the wrong color like happened to me before make it reads p .index {blah;}

And that's it!

Umm . . I mean, most pages just have the journal right there in front of you. How do you make a page that doesn't have any information yet allows you to choose where you want to go?

Did that make any more sense than the last one? u_u -sigh-

Ah.. well, my layouts are all pretty much just composed of a header image and then the journal content is below it. I just put the navigation on the header picture with an image map and then I customize everything else (the text, etc.) Some good places to go are [info]everything_lj and [info]overridehelp if you're wanting to learn how to code LJ layouts for free journals. I hope that helps some. ^^
