| Smiley... |
[Oct. 12th, 2008|08:15 pm] |
My fiancé and I rode the James River/Autumn Leaf Rambler in Buckingham County, Virginia yesterday. It's a three and a half hour scenic train ride on an old restored train. At one point we passed by a lumber yard and I spotted this smiley face and made sure to have my camera ready on the way back to snap a shot:

Pictures little kids drew today at work. This was unprevoked and seriously unbelievable, I had to keep them.
At first I thought this was a lion. No, it's actually the murderous undead doll Chucky from Child's Play. Notice the corpse he is standing on and the knife(stick?) he is holding and the subsequent holes poked in the body's face. Also, the upside down cross(?!).

| London, England |
[Oct. 3rd, 2008|05:35 pm] |
A few bits and pieces I've been collecting up for one mammoth post of joy.
My father died two weeks ago, and the morning I found out, I went for a walk around Crewe to clear my head. As I turned down the long road that leads to the town centre I came across this depressingly ironic sign:
Graffiti snaps taken around London and its suburbs. (Cross-posted to urban_decay )

| Found: I want my bike back |
[Sep. 30th, 2008|12:06 pm] |
This sign is posted all around my neighborhood. It's heartbreaking and gutsy at the same time.

In case you can't make it out, the bottom says "I have only $7.37 you can have it in exchange for my bike" |

[Sep. 29th, 2008|12:17 pm] |

i found this the last time my wife and i visited the coast, but i forgot about it until the other day. i find one shoe, or one glove fairly frequently, and i'm trying to get in the habit of taking pictures of them rather than picking them up and bringing them home, because i've got a box of single gloves out of which i've been saying i want to make an art project for a couple of years, and it hasn't happened yet... |

| The Power Broker |
[Sep. 24th, 2008|04:25 pm] |
I saw this little fellow sitting on the security desk in the office building I work at.
He has a lttle plate on the front of him that says "Westinghouse", and I thought that sounded like a good name, so I now greet him with a cordial "Good morning, Senior Westinghouse!"
Apparently, we got him as an award because our building is especially energy efficiant. How cool is that?
I think he's just fucking ADORABLE. I love him so much and I hope they don't ever move him.

found in the same location as the american bear magazine and the pile of 25 year old porno mags, i found another magazine. i put it in my pile with the slide viewer lighter, a creepy crawlers metal mold, a dog tag, a mini wash tub, a kazoo and a couple other things for $2.

i found a coverless "debonaire" from 1972 no real nudity, but i guess nsfw. ( S-T-R-E-T-C-H ) |

| Animal Skull |
[Sep. 21st, 2008|04:47 pm] |
I was out with my mother today serving summonses and lawsuits (she's a process server) and on the driveway of this house that was way up in the hills, there was this skull next to the trashcan. I had to take some pictures of it.

Is this a dog? Coyote? This was on the Central Coast of California. |

| ...do what now? |
[Sep. 19th, 2008|12:49 am] |
Apparently I depressed the comm with my first post. Sorry. ;P Have some amusing graffiti to lighten the mood. (lj-cut for naughty language, but otherwise worksafe)
( ...you want me to do what with that banana? )
The best part? It was gone the next day. I don't know who scrubbed it off -- not the city, I'll promise you that. Of all the places in my neighborhood to put graffiti, this was in one of the strangest -- that block of sidewalk is on a tiny stretch of infrequently-walked sidestreet that's been buckled by a tree root. I suspect this is the kind of graffiti that was intended for a specific, expected audience. It looks too intentional to be someone just goofing around. |

[Sep. 18th, 2008|03:39 am] |
Comm newb. I've been a collector of found stuff for a long time. I'll get some of it together to photograph later. In the meantime, something rather lengthy.
The following entry was originally posted publically to my journal. It has since been made private. Content of interest: A bunch of junk lying on a street, and what I learned about its previous owner...
