Management Memo

The correct way to post your fic.


Subject: Claim. Pairing/Character/General. Fic Number. Prompt.
Example: Astonishing X-Men. General. 001. Beginnings.
Example: Harry Potter. James/Lily. 001. Beginnings.
Example: Firefly. Mal Reynolds. 001. Beginnings.
(You don't have to use periods, but all that information must be there.)

Title: The Title of your Fic.
Fandom: What fandom the fic is written in.
Characters: The characters IN your fic.
Prompt: The prompt for your fic.
Word Count: The word count.
Rating: The rating. If you don't use G-NC17, explain what the letter means.
Summary: One or two sentences to let us know what the fic is about.
Author's Notes: Make notes. Include spolier warnings and squick warning here. Try to keep this under 50 words.

Then you can either fake cut your fic or lj-cut it. You MUST cut it. ALWAYS. Even if it's 100 words. CUT IT!

Tag: Don't know how to add your tag? Don't have a tag yet? Read this post.

LDT: I think it's a really good idea to post a link to your Little Damn Table in each fic, just so people who like what they read can read more. You certainly don't have to, but it's a good idea.
NEVER post a question about FanFic100 in my or any other mod's personal journal or in responce to their fics. You can always e-mail or IM me with any questions.

Hmm . . . well, then I'd do:

Astonishing X-Men. General. 001. Beginnings AND 002. Middles.

But that's just me. As long as you get all that info in the line, you can put it however you want. If you have to fandoms, make them in seperate posts.

Does it matter if we put additional field in the header as long as we have all the required ones? For example, I have all the ones you've listed, but I also intend to put a "Disclaimer" and a "Summary" field as well. Is that okay?

Second- I'm new to LJ and I don't know what a fake cut or lj-cut.

Regarding the "Character" section in the heading, it says to list the characters IN the story. I claimed a particular pairing, but secondary characters often appear/make significant contributions to the storyline. Should these characters be included in this line along with the pair, or does this apply only to "General" claims?

Sorry for the confusion on my part, I'm a little off-kilter today. ;P

Hmm, I have a question.
My claim is actually Draco/Ginny/Harry triangles, but my claim is listed on the big damn table as Ginny Weasley, Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter.
I'm not sure what to put on the subject line. Also, I'm not sure what I should put on the tag request.

Is it permissable to select two different fandoms? Provided you do 100 fanfics for both of them? For example:, a Harry Potter, pairing: ginny/hermione, and say, stargate atlantis: general series?

Can one have one of their characters not appear during the fic, but their name appear anyways? What I mean by this is that one of the clamied characters not appear during the course of the fic, but their name appears during the course of the fic.

So I guess the question is does a character that one has claimed have to appear in every fic or can their apparence be subsistuted by the mention of their name during the course of the fic?

Hi! Err, I've claimed the Sound-nin from Naruto, which I now realize I put "the Sound Ninjas" on my claiming post. I more commonly refer as them to the Sound-nin, though. x3 I wasn't sure if this mattered, but just wanted to inform you this is what I will be referring to them as in case you were confused or wanted to fix it. Where should I post my fic? How do you do it?

Simply I'd like to know if all the subject matter for the actual fic post is at all entirely necessary. Title and Prompt, of course, are needed. But is something like Summary and the Author's Note really all that important?

I have a fic that I'm writing that is currently 19 chapters long. However, my claim is for the same subject and I've written seperate sorta "filler" chapters. Can I post the partially completed fic, or would I be better to post the filler ones and have a link to the other places with my 19 chap one, and wait until it is finished before I post it on here?

Ok so I read everything and then some but my question is this...what if the person or pairing you want to claim has been claimed by someone who hasn't updated in quite some time and there is no pending claim on the waitlist?

There is a person/pairing I'm wanting but both have been claimed and neither claimants have updated in awhile...

Alright... I applied for a pairing not long ago and immediately started writing in the hopes of being accepted - and if not, I'd be left with some great drabbles anyway!

So far I've finished 46 drabbles of 100 words, and I was just wondering how to go about posting them. Posting every drabble seperately sounds like such a huge hassle, though I'd do it if that's what you'd do, and I'm quite sure the title header wouldn't fit all of them. That and my post would be huge if I gave the above information for all 46 of them. Would doing something like the following work?

I know that in the FAQ for FANFIC100 is says that we can post our stories where ever we want, but I'm wondering this:

I work primarily on Fanfiction.net. Would it be possible for me to post there, and when I post my stories here just put a link in to ff.net? I've never used LJ before, so I'm rather confused on how to post.

Hi. My claim has just been accepted and i'd like to proceed to the next step. I have some stories ready to post but I'm a little confused about the rest of the process since i'm also new to LJ.

1. Tagging

a. Do I post my story to FANFIC100 community first before I request a tag?
b. Is it one tag per story or one tag per claim?
c. I didn't understand this instruction - MAKE SURE you include a link to a fic in the community that belongs to your claim when you request your tag.

I'm posting a story for 24. I'd like the fic to show up in the 24fanfic community and FANFIC100, what should i do?

2. Table Links

Again not sure what to include in my request - do i just send the link to my profile as i've seen others do?

I want to claim Bellatrix, Andromeda, and Narcissa Black, and someone already has it, but they have posted on the claim in almost two years, and haven't posted on their actual journal in over a year. Can I still make a claim, or do I have to wait one week, still, considering they've not been online in almost a year?
