Admin/Mod: Rules for everyone.
It's not possible I am the only one on LJ who reads a community's rules before posting. And I also thought I'd asked you often enough to do so, but alas. Maybe I didn't make myself clear enough. Anyway, it makes me feel kinda stupid and that's not funny. So, I finally present to you the post that will be linked back to our new layout soon-ish:

The all new, revised and improved rules of ewan_hayden
Yes, it's necessary. The community has gotten too big. Under the cut, you will find the all new and improved rules with examples I hope everybody will understand.
Read them. Love them. Live them. Same rules apply for everyone.
What's been posted up to this post stays. I don't want anyone to feel bad or anything, so leave it be and don't worry. Also, this is not an attack against anyone in particular, rather a precaution since there are certain directions I do not want to see this community drifting to.
This is a modded community and I am not an invisible mod. I set this community up, I care deeply for it and respect you all. All I'm asking you is to do the same.
Basics
- This is a slash community, dealing with male/male relationships of both fictional characters and real persons. Can't handle? Play elsewhere. No het, no flaming, no bashing.
- This is not an info or help community on Ewan, Hayden or slash in general. If you need help of the info kind, check the Master Links List for sites of interest/other communities that can help you. As far as our info goes, there are some detailed answer in this community's info section
- Feel free to post fics, icons, other fan art, pics, related news/discussions/meta and so on. Make it Ewan/Hayden relevant only (on what not to post: see On spamming below), not only Ewan or Hayden-relevant.
- Ewan/Hayden, Obi-Wan/Anakin and other E/H characters (crossovers) only. If you have other/third parties involved in the mix for plot or whatever reasons, fine, make it happen! But please, nothing too graphic: always remember the OTP we're here for and you should focus on ;)
- Due to bandwith limitations and other reasons, some posts in this community are locked. You might want to consider joining instead of monitoring only to get it all ;) However, please be respectful to other members and do not share the content of locked posts without permission.
- Looking for something? Fic, icons, SW info? Check the memories, it's what they're there for.
On posting pics, fics, icons and such
- All pics wider than 400 px, all posts with more than 2 pics/4 icons, all fics and everything that could be considered an Episode III-spoiler go behind a LJ cut. It's common courtesy in regards of other people's layout and general netiquette.
- If you post pics, do not hotlink. Use your own webspace (try photobucket if you haven't got any) to post your pics. And give credit whenever you can.
- Concerning fics: please use a header including rating, warnings (if necessary) and: disclaimer. Use a beta reader, if you're weak in grammar/spelling/plot. We have members who offer their services to you. Look here, no need to be shy at all, it's what they're there for. Or, alternatively, try starwarsbetas. I know the feeling how finally having that story finished and wanting to post it as soon as possible, but if you're not sure, follow the Jedi way, be patient and use a beta. Your readers will appreciate it. Posting fics without having them beta'ed first although they obviously need one is not polite. And, since we're trying to maintain some level of quality, I don't even have to mention that writing of the Mary Sue kind isn't appropriate as serious fic, yes?
- No more netspeak/caps locked only posts. Write in a way people understand. Nothing against a little squeeing and drooling every now and then - well, I'm a master of that myself - but keep it in the comments. In general, maturity in writing is the key.
On spamming
- I love this community's activity! It's buzzing and that makes me happy. However, quantity doesn't necessarily mean quality, so please: no spam.
- This is not your personal journal. Everything you post here will appear on the FLists of (as of this moment) 527 people. Most of whom you do not know and maybe only share the love for Ewan/Hayden // Obi-Wan/Anakin with. So, ask yourself if your post is really necessary in this respect.
- Check the memories. What you're about to share/ask might be there already.
- Bad examples aka spamming: posts like "I met X who looks like Y", "My sister has never watched SW, can you believe?" "OMG EWAN IS SO CUTE !!!111!!!!!", Look, I dressed my brother up as Anakin quizzes, memes etc.
- Good example aka please more: fic, icons, fanart, discussions that are film/actors-related (as in directly Ewan/Hayden related and could be used for info/resource and writing RPS, but there's already some in the memories, so don't overdo it, thanks), meta, related news (same note) and the like.
- No more introductory posts unless you're contributing something else. It's not necessary to tell people you're here because you think Ewan/Hayden is hot. We all are. If you want to get to know people, interact with them in the comments of a post, make new friends there, I'm all for it. However, this is not a dating community, so don't post what more looks like a personal ad than anything else.
- Also, this is not a LJ help community. LiveJournal's FAQ is your friend.
- No unanounnced advertising of other communities. Contact me first. Same rules if you're planning to post anything 'official', like a challenge, fic-a-thon or whatever, stuff which will be posted and announced by mods only. So ask us first, we'd like to hear your ideas.
- Again, this is not an info comm on the boys. Check the memories and the Master Links List. Don't spam the community with questions, do some own research or check other places. Do a LJ-interest-search or again, check the links/memories for better places to get the info you need.
- Have a plot bunny to share? Add it to this Master Thread. No single bunny posts. Also, check the thread to get inspired ;)

These are the official rules of this community as of now. If you ignore them, I will link you back to this. It's also possible the post in question might be deleted, especially if it is considered spam. That's what these rules are for. By joining I expect you to acknowledge them.

1. Rules Update June 17th 2005, concerning pic postings:
From today on, no more pic spams or news updates of Hayden or Ewan only in this community. It's not that we don't appreciate your effort, but it's getting too much. We still have about 25 posts per day, which is fantastic. But. This is, after all, a pairing related community and Ewan/Hayden (Obi-Wan/Anakin) should be its only focus.
So. Keep on posting new pics/caps of both Ewan and Hayden, as in together, check the memories to see what we got already), or related news (for example, a new article of Hayden gushing about working with Ewan and such). But no more 'single' itmes. If that's what you're looking for, please check communities that are better suited, like daily pics comms, actor comms etc (a few are mentioned in the Master Links List).
2. Rules Update November 4th, 2005, concerning general posting:
Please DO NOT disable comments when you post here. With our current layout, we have no chance to access your post if the comments are disabled. Thus, we can't add it to the memories. Also, you have no chance to edit your post at a later time.
Leave comments enabled at all time.
