BG Image misaligned in FF3

Posted at 11:25 am
Name of journal: [info]omniocular
Layout Style: S1 Generator
Basic, Paid or Plus: Basic

Problem you are having: In FF3, the header remained centered, while the body jumped left. (See [info]omnio_staff for example.) I managed to center the body by switching the table margins from 10% to auto, but it's still a couple pixels off.

And of course, it looks hideous in IE, but I don't expect to fix that without upgrading.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Problem you are having:

I looked all over this community to find a tutorial on how to convert a S1style Generator layout to a S2style Generator layout, and I can't seem to find one anywere.

I am not good with coding/CSS, if someone can please help me, please.

I would like to keep my layout looking the way it does, but get all the things S2style has to offer.

Misaligned graphic

Problem you are having:

I am working on a layout design in Bloggish which has turned out quite nice, however when I had friends look at it in their various browsers, some of them tell me that the community icon sits over the right hand top background graphic.

Yet to me, in IE and Firefox at different resolutions, it looks fine.

I'd appreciate some input on how to fix the problem.

Lj - Cut + Table editing problem

Posted at 09:40 pm

Problem you are having: I  have 2 problems ,

1st problem : I can't not get the Lj-cut to work.  I add the lj-cut like i did  before to my entry and then post it to my Lj but when i go and look at my Lj i see that all my icons aren't behind the Lj-cut . This has been frustrating my all day.  Ive tried this in Firefox Safe mode and in IE and im still having this problem.

2nd problem : when i add a table into the rich text editor and i try to edit the table i can't , it works fine in IE eg but not in Firefox eg .

i hope ive explained my two problems if not just ask me and ill try to explain it better

thx in advance. :)

simple fixing

Problem you are having: ok, theres 3 things. but they're all really simple...i just can't seem to figure them out.

the first one would be my journal. i want it positioned to the left (its now in the center). is it possible to do that with a basic account?

the second one would be my navigation strip. i would like the color to be dark grey gradient, but everytime i put it on that one...it all just turns white, even the font.

and the third, which isn't a big deal...but i've got a big space between my journals title, and the [entries|friends|calendar] stuff. i'd like it to be next to each other. but if that isn't possible, thats fine. its not that big of a deal. i'm fairly new to LJ, so i'm quite confused. haha.

thanks so much in advance.
i truly appreciate it

I set up my friend's community with a layout ages ago, but when I looked at it the other day while logged out, I saw that the advertisements completely thrash the overrides and smash the layout to pieces. Is there any way to fix it?

Problem you are having:

On my comment page there is a big gap of space. And the little selection boxes are over to the right of the page, while the comments are where they should be. O__o Also, the 'post comment' and 'more options' buttons on the comment page run into each other. :( This is also happening on polls and fill in boxes. And I can't fix my reply form size. :(

I had a question about inputting some custom css on the flexible squares theme...

I basically want to have some space between my header and the entries, and no side bar, with both being around 600px - with the text of entries in a scrolling box that's partially transparent.  I can make the box and etc., but I can't seem to get rid of the sidebar box or the box around the scrolling box.  I've tried display:none; but I might be putting it in the wrong place.  I also don't know if I can put space between the header and the main entry part.

Suggestions?

Mozilla upgrade screwed entry alignment

Problem you are having: This problem started when we installed the latest upgrade for Mozilla. The entries on the journal are too far to the right, and since the layout continues to look great in IE, I tried the Child Of hack and the !important; thinger. Neither of them solved the problem (as a matter of fact, when I was doing the !important; thing, the entries started going back to the right once I reached positive numbers O___o). I'm at a loss, so I came to the experts.

Padding problem

Posted at 07:54 pm
Name of journal: [info]ringosdiamond
Layout Style: S2 Flexible Squares
Basic, Paid or Plus: Paid
Problem you are having: I would like to have some padding around the user icon of my entry when it appears on the comment page, that is next to my entry text, not the icons I use in comments. I'm using a CSS style sheet by [info]reversescollide, a part of the codes has been added below, i.e. the one that defines the usericons on my recent and friends' entries page. I'm happy with no icons on my entries page, but since I've recently opted to show my entries/comment page in my own journal's style, I've had to deal with the entry text being a bit too close to the user icon, and no matter where I go look in CSS explanation entries here on LJ, I can't find the right code to solve this problem.

Mood Theme Help

Posted at 11:01 pm
Username of journal: [info]emtqueen85
Layout Style: Expressive (layers)

Problem you are having: I can't get this custom mood theme to work. I followed these directions to the T, but the images don't show up on the Customize style page. Is it because I'm using a layered stylesheet (It's this one, if that helps any)? I only just bought the paid account last night, so I'm still trying to figure things out. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Okay, I figured out that I had put in the URL wrong so the above problem is solved, but another problem popped up: some of the pictures aren't showing up at all. They're in the Photobucket album, so it's not an uploading issue.

Problem you are having: If I want to post I can't because rich text won't load and I can't change it to html either.
This happened to me since I downloaded the last firefox version. But it won't work with IE either.

Now html works from the start but when I switch to rich text i can't write or get it back to html.

Any ideas?

A question about links.

Posted at 12:20 am
Name of journal:

ugh I don't know what's wrong with it now! When I go to edit the entry, all that is showing up is this text: Name of journal. This is really frustrating.

Anyway, the richtext, the window pops up and it's blank. HTML is this:

 [info]jessaminejill
Layout Style: S2
Basic, Paid or Plus: Basic
Problem you are having: This isn't necessarily about layouts, but I have no idea where else to ask and my google-fun isn't cooperating. Does anyone have an answer as to why when I try to post a link in an entry, it doesn't work? It doesn't work if I use rich text or html. HTML it shows as the full text like this: <a href="http.www.whatever.com">sample text</a>. Rich text there's nothing to even click on. I use Firefox and I have an add-on for Livejournal, but I've tried deleting it and there's no change. If I want to post a link in someone else's journal via a comment, it works though! This is really frustrating, can anyone help me? I would be really, extremely grateful.
