UK Goth Club Listing (cross-posted) [Apr. 18th, 2008|05:08 pm]

delkaetre_ni
Yes, the Listing is still alive and kicking. But, as will happen when one gathers a large amount of info about goths into once place, parts of it are no longer of guaranteed accuracy. So, I would like to take this chance to ask very nicely that you pretty please help out a bit with it.
If you could possibly confirm whether the following clubs are alive or dead, I'll be grateful. So grateful that I'll probably buy a drink for you if you identify yourself to me at Whitby, Woolstock, Misfest, Infest or whatever else ends up luring me in.
Bournemouth- Black Machine @ Portman Hotel, last Sat of every month
Brighton- Nightshade @ Gap Club, bi-monthly
Brighton- Lowlife @ the Engine Room, 4th Saturday
Edinburgh- Club Absynth @ Nicol Edwards, last Saturday
Glasgow- Flux @ Level Four, Strathclye Union, 1st Saturday
Manchester - Ara @ Sacred Trinity Church, Church Street, 4th Friday
Northampton- Absolution @ the Racehorse Pub, 1st Saturday
York- Shadowplay @ The Black Swan, last Monday (variable)
The full club listing is available here, and if you want any festivals, gigs, events, or local stuff listed, then contact us- leave a message here, or use the contact details on the site. Trashcan and I will be meeting at Whitby to discuss the future of the site- we hope to move to a new host and we'll be talking to a few people about that, so the site should grow and improve. But, as with Netgoth, it can't do this without your help- let us know when something's on and we'll get it listed.

UK Goth Club Listing now has a site. (cross posted) [Sep. 20th, 2007|03:13 pm]

delkaetre_ni
The goth club list is now available HERE. The URL is www.freewebs.com/ukgothclublist, if you'd like to put that somewhere for safekeeping.
It doesn't show up on searches yet, since I only threw it together this afternoon.
It will, later, gain a list of festivals and possibly a page for one-off events, and will certainly gain a page for band listings and a page for online stores.
It is basic- no music, no funny cursors, no flashing things, no animations. This is because I want it to work for everyone- I don't want it to turn into the kind of mess that Myspace so easily does, I want it to be functional. Just a neat and tidy site, with a links bar at one side. At no point should this be difficult to navigate, cause you to crash, make noises, or any of those things that can kill a dial up connection and slow down the site's functionality.
What think ye?

UK club listings [Sep. 19th, 2007|02:01 pm]

delkaetre_ni
If there is still a regularly updated listing for all UK goth events and I'm just in the dark about it, then apologies in advance for this...

Netgoth is down, the International Goth Club Listing misses bits and can be pretty sketchy and outdated, and other sites seem to suffer similar problems. So I thought I'd try and help by compling as accurate a listing for UK goth events as possible. May include festivals and one-off events at some point, just includes clubs for now.
If a night is listed but has changed venue, changed date, or no longer runs- let me know.
If something is listed as unconfirmed and you can confirm it, please do.
If there is a regular night in your area which is for some reason not listed, let me know. Give the date, name, pub or other location it's held in, and city.

The (listed by town) listing so far-

I need a frock coat (black), vest (patterned in dark colors) and cane, I'm moving toward a romantic goth image.
Thanks.

Dead Men Walking - Colchester Arts Centre [Sep. 12th, 2005|05:43 pm]

trashcan17
Dead Men Walking are a group of musicians who have their roots in punk, Goth, new wave and rockabilly and perform classic songs from their careers in ways not always expected!

The line up for this years tour will be
Captain Sensible of the Damned, Mike Peters of The Alarm, Kirk Brandon of Spear of Destiny/Theatre of Hate and Slim Jim Phantom of the Stray Cats.

The will be playing
Colchester Arts Centre on Thursday 13th October 2005
Ticket info 01206 500900 or through the normal outlets

I have seen them on previous tours and its a great night out with a real mix of songs from Stray Cat Strut to Westworld to 68 Guns to Anarchy in the UK to She Sells Sanctuary and many more getting an airing. In the past previous members of the line up and "special guests" for one off shows have included The Sex Pistols Glen Matlock, The Cult's Billy Duffy, Bruce Watson of Big Country, Pete Wylie the Mighty Wah and Mick Jones of the Clash. Have heard rumours of special guests turning up for some of the tour. The new member for this tour is the Captain so could be interesting versions of Happy Talk, New Rose and Eloise amongst others getting an airing.

More info and full tour info is at http://www.deadmenwalking.co.uk
