Quiz
What is your religion?

Feel free to qualify.

e.g.:
Official Types: (i.e., actually belonging to An Organization)
* christian [denote sub-aspect if relevant]
* muslim
* wiccan
... etc.
Unofficial Types:
* "spiritual"
* generic-"religious" (same as above, but you believe in the existence of a Supreme Being(s), i.e., God) [yeah, that's my definition; let's not argue semantics here]
* atheist - there ain't no god [many subdivisions of this, like "humanist", but those are moral rather than religious in my opinion]
* agnostic - unconvinced either way

I'm what I like to call a pessimistic agnostic.

I'm an empath too, but I don't believe that it is (as one person I tried to explain it to said) reaching into some "Higher Power".

I'm what you would call a hereditary natural solitary witch but here's a cool place you can check out what beliefs.. it's a long 4 page quiz but really interesting http://beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html I ended up being a Unitarian Universalism which is pretty close to how I feel. http://www.beliefnet.com/story/80/story_8041_1.html is info on what that is.

I don't formally belong to anything.

My religion is a mixture of paganism, Buddhism, and shamanism. I am also a Reiki (a type of energy healing) practitioner.

I guess if those are my options I'd be "spiritual".

I consider myself a new ager. I live my life in a spiritual way, but I do not follow any organized religion. The religion that my beliefs are closest in relation to is Wicca.

I think we can all concede that there is no empirical way of demonstrating the existence of God or an afterlife.

I identify as Wiccan, but I don't belong to a coven or follow any one particular tradition (such as Dianic, Gardnerian, etc.) So I'm kind of unofficially official? Or is it officially unofficial? :)

That would make you a solitary eclectic wiccan. Solitary as in not part of a coven or anything and eclectic as in selecting individual elements from a variety of sources, systems, or styles. Hope that helps.

nodnodnod. I'm familiar with the term, but I wasn't sure if most other people on here would be, so I opted for the vaguely whimical approach.

A good question.

'Quantum Alchemy', which is, truth be told, just the name I give my own beliefs. I believe that all things are connected - in fact, that all things are one, and that all things /are/ the supreme being. Our fractured viewpoints simply the various aspects of its being seeking to understand itself, from ourselves down to the humblest speck of dust.

But then, I've been accused of being strange.

'Spiritual' I suppose, given the choices.

I'm optomistic agnostic, I suppose. Although I also consider myself spiritual in some aspects. I suppose my beliefs make me almost a chaos magician.. but I'm not sure if that quite fits. I have a large interest in Asatru/Teutonic/Norse magick.

I'm a mix of traditional Roman Catholic and my own interpretations of such. An interesting blend...dash of eccentricity here, pinch of chaotic view-points there...you get the hint.

Ok, here goes . . .I have no name for what I am . .
there is no god- the earth and the universe are powerful and run by spirits/energies that are formed by chemistry, BUT we have souls, and are all connected some how, and I use logic and a little taoism, plus some aspects from wiccan, buddism, and pagan/mysticism . . .is that comlicated or what?!

i'm baptised in baptist and methodist religions. i personally belive in god and jesus, but i am slowly beliving that there are other gods as well. like all the gods that are thought of are real. i also have some ideas about the after-life that shape my religoius views as well. i belive in reincarnation and karma. i belive that is the cycle we go through. i belive that God watches over us in a since. i belive he's picky about who he helps and not because he doesn't have time to help everyone. but in return i ..well i think his role is very passive but he is there. just mainly for support, someone to talk to. but i belive the whole reincarnation thing stops after your soul has learned all that it has...and some souls progress more than others as usual. and once you have you get ranked on how positive or negative you are. if you are more negative you go to a hellish like place and if you are positive you go to a heaven like place.*shrugs*just my idea.

Raised Catholic, was a solitary eclectic wiccan for a while, consider myself more eclectic pagan now - with a lot of beliefs about energy tied into my spiritual beliefs, including ch'i, meridians, acupressure, chakras, reiki, etc. I am in a spiritual group that includes a lot of different individual beliefs, but is not a "coven" per se.

So you could categorize me as either "more spiritual than religious" or "pagan."

Christian (Presbyterian). Mind you I practice magick. So the easiest thing to call me might be a christian witch. But I don't use any of the pagan religion. Just the practicing of magick. SO maybe it would be easier to call me a christian mage. But I'm very devoted to my christian faith. For a long time I wanted to go to seminary like my dad. I still might go to get a lesser degree.

I claim Deism (ie God [or as I like to say He/She/It/They] created the world and left it to us to play in) with the Monkey Wrench varitation when I fill out polls to represent. I s'pose that'd technically make me "spiritual" but I don't like the goody-goody feeling I get from the word spiritual.
