website project!
I went to move the Links page over to the new website (see it here: http://dailygranola.atspace.org/links.html) and I realized that the links are mostly relevant to Americans exclusively.

So... non-Americans, what do you want to see on the links page?

(And same goes for the Americans - what did I miss?)

Other than what's listed, I'm thinking I should add Planned Parenthood and Audubon and Arbor Day links

mostly relevant to Americans exclusively

And it's worse than that ... mostly relevant to residents of the USA exclusively! :-)

The place I always start for UK/European information is the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales.

Yeah, I know, I know. I added all of my links where I go to get information... except my focus is on US politics and news when I go looking for info.

I really, really enjoy searching for information. I adore it and can happily do it all day. In fact, if anyone wanted to employ me to spend my days searching online or in books for information on any given topic, I would be thrilled and delighted. I'm not sure that anyone would, especially given my lack of work experience or training, but enthusiasm surely must count?? :)

Also on a gifty theme, both Britons and Americans can get newpapers from the days their loved ones were born (actual editions, not copies, with certificates of authenticity) at Newspapers Remembered - The Times for Britons and various city newspapers for Americans. A lovely way to recycle with style.

This is a lot to sort through. Can I ask you a favor?

If you go to the website (http://www.dailygranola.com) - and I apologize that it's a bit of a mess right now - some of these sites would go better as a comment in a post than on the links page.

For example, specific sites where you can buy clothing or banks or sites that sell gifts.

For the links page I'm trying to concentrate on news sites, political sites, blogs, consumer information sites (a lot of the ones you've mentioned are great), directories of ethical companies like the ones you've listed, environmental activism organizations, etc. I guess the difference is the content on the links page will be a bit more global than the more specific information in other posts. The great thing about the comments in the individual posts is that we can all share our ideas together.

Also - some of these sites oughta be new posts on LJ if you feel up to it. The ethical tourism one would be AWESOME.

Sorry I'm being so anal retentive, I'm just trying to think of the best way to organize things so people can navigate the site and the community.
