Okay, watch the image below carefully. Somehow, after it shifts, there's a 13th guy.

perhaps I'm just stupid, but how in the hell does this work!?

its just the way the guys are positioned. when they shift one row has 3 and when it shifts again it only has 2...

I've looked at it frame by frame and even added colour to each face that moves. Two people 'lose' a part of them, but still appears complete.

ook at the dude at the bottom left.... when they shift everyone gets new heads and legs but him... he actually loses the top of his head
