This is a strange question, but recently I've become obsessed with Anano (if your not familiar here's a link http://www.anano.net/bear.html )
and I've spent a zillion dollars on Japanese craft books on ebay...
so heres my strange question!

I have a bunch of plain tupperware that I keep scraps of fabric, beads, paper pieces & whatnot in, I'd like to decorate them & I've seen it done in Anano art & japanese books, I'm thinking I can paint on them with acrylic, but I'm not sure how to seal them so the paint doesn't scratch off, maybe gel medium? Any ideas? I know I wont run them through the dishwasher, but I'd really just like to spruce them up a bit.

Has anyone else bought some Japanese craft books? I was thinking it might be kinda neat to trade scans of the books, the more fun stuff the better...any ideas/anyone interested?

:D

To paint the tupperware, they now have craft & spray paint made to paint on plastics. I would probably recommend spraypainting the tupperware one base color with the official plastic spaint, and then just use regular acrylic paints because the paints should stick to themselves fine.

well im not sure...several people have just been a bit informative informing me its against copyright...
i was just going to scan it & email it...i thought if it was used for reference or private use you could do it but im not sure..

you SO dont have to do all 5....just pick your favorite :D
im just going to scan one...take your time too because so far only a few people who originally said they were interested got back to me...i reposted saying to let me know by friday :D

so the long & the short of it....sure! lets trade, ill scan mine & email to you and vice versa :D

if your uncomfortable about the copyright thing...no biggie!

very cool..I might make a post saying everyone to email me a copy of their book, plus their lj name by friday & then i can FWD them all out? does that sound like a good idea? I feel kinda strange having everyone send out their books to me, then me fwding them out, so maybe everyone can email me their book name & email & i can make a list & email that to everyone instead...any suggestions?

that sounds like a good plan.
yes, it seems most practical that there is a list of books (and pictures?) with the corresponding lj name and individuals will contact one another for the swap. media mail via usps would be the least expensive for shipping. let's say that you want to swap with me, then you get a request for the book which i have...would i forward that book to the next person? (just a what if scenario...)
rock on!

oooooo you mentioned shipping...i didnt think about printing them, i had figured we'd just swap scans online. my book is 66 pages & someone mentioned putting them in their entirety...

well i think it might be just as bad if we photocopy & mail :D
i didnt think of that, but I think everyone is going to use them for private use, so it should be ok!
