Mod post - Bad Apollo?
Alright, if you've got anything negative to say about Good Apollo, get it out here. This entry will be linked in the community's userinfo page, so anyone looking to vent in the future will have convenient access.

Keeping in mind the nature of this post, you might want to comment at your own risk. I.E, don't try to tell people they're wrong, and that the whole album is absolute perfection, because it'll probably be futile. Also, thoughtful discussion is encouraged, as flaming others just makes you look like a moron. This post may or may not be moderated from time to time.

We all like Coheed, obviously, and not being completely enamored by every single song is fine. It doesn't make anybody a better/worse fan. As long as we still support the band, everything is peachy.

I hope life is fantastic, and for those undertaking finals this week, good luck!

my only comment is this:

there is no law out there that states that i MUST like EVERY SINGLE ONE of coheeds song to be considered a fan. i am a HUGE coheed fan and a HUGE SUPPORTER of their music. i just don't like a few of the songs that are on good apollo. the just don't ring true to me.

i like the 1st 4 songs, wake up, the suffering, and most of the final cut. all the middle stuff sounds the same to me and kinda makes me gag. i seriously haven't been able to listen to the CD all of the way through yet, and i've had the album since sept 19th.

if you ask me, it make me more of a honest, true fan because i don't feel like i HAVE to like all their stuff.

I totally understand. I think it'd be a little bit creepy if you were ZOMGZSUPERMEGAINLOVE with every song.

I haven't listened to the whole CD all the way through yet either. I get a little antsy towards the middle. I ADORE the slower, softer songs, though. I also agree with your last point. Having a real, well thought out opinion makes for a more empowered fan.

Ugh, finals are killing me a little, and it's not even Monday yet.

Jeez, that's nutty. I only have two to take care of tomorrow, and then I'll be done. The rest of mine have been take home finals, which are generally easy, but still insanely time consuming.

Yay for break!

Everything between Crossing The Frame and the Willing Well songs suck and are terribly "blah."

I'm going to take this space to say that if Wake Up becomes a single and get's ridiculously overplayed and such - I will vomit.

Wake Up won't become a single. I don't see it. it doesn't properly represent the band, if that makes sense.

it's one of those fluke songs, but it is necessary in the album, as far as story progression, and even the nature and the mood of the music coinciding with the story that the lyrics tell.

sorry if i sound incoherent -- i more or less am. :/

the only song i have a problem with is crossing the frame, just because it sounds a lot like favor house. but other than that, i adore the album.

Well. I don't particularly like Mother May I.
So there. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with the album.

And by the way, my running favorite song, aside from any of the Willing Wells, (for a really long time - record for me!) is Once Upon Your Dead Body and I don't think I'll ever understand how people don't like that song. Heh, oh well. Different strokes for different folks.

I agree, "Once Upon Your Dead Body" is my favorite on the CD.
But I like all the others, too. :-D

i hate the willing wells. the final cut is the only decent one, the rest are just boring.

and the blood red summer breakdown? it feels like it was pretty much forced instead of written into the song. and it doesn't even compare to the 2113 time consumer breakdown.

there, i said it.

I don't understand why people like BRS so much. I feel it belongs on Good Apollo, that's how much I don't like it.

brs is a good simple catchy pop song and i like it, it's not one of my favorites, but it's good

i just love the brs breakdown because for me it was extremely unexpected and a great little surprise in the song
