Why would a magician need a sword? Sure it was convienant to say the least for Harry and he needed to use it against a basilik because his wand was being coveted by Riddle's Memory. In addtion to this he did not know enough magic to fight off a basilisk--plus I assume that the hide may be too thick to penetrate with spells much like a dragons--so there for Harry couldn't just shrink it. However to nit pick, why would Godric, a man smart enough to invent a sorting hat and be talented to forge a school for magicians, need a sword? Now I am sure this is one of those things JKR would say... "I don't think that way..." and that I am over anaylising a bit. But seriously, objects are often thought about long and hard before they are just placed in the hands of a character. Especially if they are going to have any strong focuses in any given seen. Deep thoughts. Okay back to laundry and thinking about swords. Mon, Apr. 3rd, 2006, 09:07 pm

of the Church of Hogwarts! Like the Triwizard Tournament, this HARRYTHON has three tasks, with one out come. Instead of the Triwizard Cup and eternal glory you have a even greater reward: knowledge. Task 1 - Find one element to focus on, in regards to Harry Potter. Go forth and find clues that will bring you new knowledge on that element. Task 2 - Read all the books, from cover to cover including Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them. Watch all the movies. Take notes on your element of focus. Task 3 - Present new found knowledge to Church of Hogwarts. Include citations and evidence. For example, my focus will be Snape. My focus will be on if there is substantial evidence that indicates his true intentions that might help me better understand why he did what he did. Now if you would all like to work on the same topic that is fine. However we need to decide. The HARRYTHON will start March 20 (because our UK friends will not have the fourth movie on DVD until then.) Please, in this post ask questions, pose thoughts. We may even take a vote on how we wish to proceed. Do we choose Champions, or is it an All Play? Then when we have finalized our HARRYTHON plans, we will present how contestants will post. This is a entry for discussion of the HARRYTHON. Let the fest, begin! Tue, Mar. 7th, 2006, 08:23 pm
( Spoilers up and down-- you should know Harry Potter by book and movie before uncutting this, U HAVE BEEN WARNED ) Sorry in advance to my International friends who have not gotten it... which makes no sence. The WB can internationally release a book at the same time, but a freaking DVD takes two different weeks... strange. Mon, Mar. 6th, 2006, 08:17 am
There are better beers out there than Corona and Bud. Why drink crappy American and Mexican Beers? You live in England! *gigglesigh* Tue, Feb. 21st, 2006, 06:14 pm
