Well, here I am. I doubt I'm going to be able to find a partner here, being as I'm under 18 and live in the suburbs of Chicago, but hey, I could make some friends, right?
I'm Tabby; I love animals, science, debate, literature, writing poetry, and having crazy good substance-free fun. I'm bisexual and probably bigender too. Sooo. . . nice to meet everyone! | | Friday, October 3rd, 2008 | 9:41 pm [childfreevt] |
Any CF, single women in southern VT? I'd like to hear from you.

Happy Childfree Pride Weekend 2008! Hi, Happy Childfree Pride Weekend of 2008! This weekend is the fifth annual Childfree Pride Weekend, a holiday weekend that I created for childfree adults so that they could take pride or show pride in their excellent childfree decision; this weekend occurs everywhere on Earth. This weekend excludes the non-childfree, where the non-childfree are the fence sitters, childless, past, current and foster parents, past, current and future stepparents, past, current and future surrogate parents, past, current and future godparents, past, current and future guardians of at least one minor, past, current and future parents, and past, current and future procreators. Childfree Pride Weekend occurs every year on the weekend of September's fourth Saturday. Before anyone comments about the lack of an advance announcement, I have been quite busy in my life. Note: Cross-posted in relevant areas on the Internet. -- Proud to be childfree, ChildfreeMan1962 Current Mood: happy | | Monday, September 15th, 2008 | 5:05 am [a_silent_sound]

Ahh...once again it feels like there's no childfree men out there. What's the deal with that? Eh? I'm a 21 year old CF female. I live near Lexington Kentucky and, it's supposed to be a good town for singles. Heck, Yahoo even listed in their top 50. But, out of all those 'singles' out there. Not one of them seem to be Childfree. I've searched dating sites up and down and none of the men say they don't want children here. Is there a shortage of Childfree men everywhere. Or just in Kentucky? All I want is to find someone to give love to. And, that will give love back. I feel so left out of the dating game just because I have no desire to have children. I find it so disturbing and sad. :( Feel free to respond to this message if you're a single Childfree man, I don't even care if you're from KY. I just wanna know if there's any hope for me left. Anyone here? Well.. hm. I'm new here, so I may as well introduce myself. I'm a single male, almost 25, that lives in Colorado Springs, CO. I do not want kids, never have wanted kids, and am really sick and tired of dating people with kids. I am a car and computer enthusiast, gamer geek, and have various other hobbies I'm free to chat about. I might be poking back into the dating scene, but around here it's almost impossible to find anyone but single moms or ultra-religious girls who insist on 'letsgetmarriedandhavebabiesNOW!' Personally, I'm around here to date; I'm not a big fan of getting married at all, anyway.
So, anyone want to chat a bit? :) | | Sunday, April 13th, 2008 | 8:39 pm [idonotwantkids]

I had a bad experience on a dating site recently, and I think that you folks will identify with me. First of all, it clearly states in my profile on this site that I don't want kids. That's a non-negotiable. I even used to state as part of my profile that if someone sends me a message, but his profile says "Yes, I want kids," then I won't even bother replying. I took that out of my profile because it seemed too unfriendly and harsh. I'm thinking of putting it back because I'm tired of getting emails from men who state in their profile that they definitely want kids.
About a week ago, a man sent me a message, and it was very interesting. However, his profile said "Yes" to the "Do you want kids?" question. Normally I would have deleted it without replying, but for some reason I decided to reply and say that I was tempted by his message, but I don't want children and he does, so we are not a good match. I guess I wanted him to know why I was saying "no thank you."
I couldn't believe what I got back! He replied with this very rude message that basically told me that a single person has no right to decide whether or not she wants kids. According to him, that's a decision that a couple has to make together! And I quote, "Talking to me would not get you pregnant." Honestly, I don't see the point in communicating with someone on a dating site who has answered "Yes" to the kids question. It's a waste of my time. I don't want kids, and that's a non-negotiable.
I immediately blocked him. Unbelievable. The nerve of him to tell me that a single person has no right to decide whether he or she wants children or not. Is it or is it not my decision?? (That's a rhetorical question, as I'm sure you can all tell.) It's been a week, and I'm still quietly seething with anger.
For those of you who are on dating sites, how specific are you in your profiles about being childfree? What's a way to phrase it that doesn't seem bitchy and unfriendly? | 12:24 am [olliver]

intro Hi. I'm recently single (due to my CF decision) and I thought I see who's out there. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone. I'm not looking to date or anything just yet, but finding some like minded people might give me hope for the future. I know I've limited myself to an incredibly small portion of the dating population by choosing this lifestyle, and I'm not all that social to begin with! Anyhow... I'm a 31 year old male living in upstate NY. Cheers. | | Tuesday, September 18th, 2007 | 11:44 am [childfreeman196]

Summer is here! Sorry to some ranters I love the summer b/c it means that my best friend takes her son to her mom's for a few months & I get to spend more time w/her and have more uninterrupted convo time. I know it's selfish & she's depressed and misses her son, but it's so good for them to have a break. And although I feel bad that she's depressed, I am also relieved that he's gone b/c he's just so annoying & loud & obnoxious. She & her kid are together all the time, which isn't at all healthy to me, but whatever... And no one can tell her anything. But she is working & will be able to make money to continue to provide for him.
We are going to go out Sat. & see James Marsters play. I can't wait. It's on Long Island @ some place we've never been B4. Hopefully he will make lots of gestures and maybe even do the Spike voice(his character from Buffy).
I apologize if I seemed to attack anyone who did any child ranting. Gods know I do plenty of it. I have this annoying thing where I'm always trying to see (and get others to see( someone else's side of things. Single & Lonely I'm so sad and I've been dumped b/c of my Vlad the Impaler necklace. I can't talk to my best friend b/c she has a bi-polar problem child. I can't see my cat b/c he lives w/her & her annoying chld. I am so upset right now. I guess the only remedy is to go to the pharmacy & pick up my Zoloft so I can feel OK again. The problems won't go away but I'll better be able to handle them. Current Mood: sadCurrent Music: Van Morrison |
