We got one response to my last post here regarding our house, so this is the last offer of our house to the goth community before we offer it to the general brisneyland community.
I posted last week about our house here, we're keen to get this sorted asap as we have our house in Stanthorpe organised and we're ready to move and get the house set up for the baby's birth. So, if you want a really cheap, big, hassle free house close to the city, where nobody cares how much noise you make, speak now or miss out! :D

Holy Moley, I have tonight off, and tomorrow too! This never happens!
Naturally, I want to celebrate by going out and shaking my groove thing. My tastes run to classic goth rock with a dash of EBM for spice and a garnish of metal, but I'm usually up for anything.

Beloved puss that I have been looking after for some months now very much needs a good permanent home, as soon I am leaving Brisbane.
She is 7 years old with long white fur (looks like a Turkish Van, I'll post pics soon) very attractive, healthy, loyal, affectionate and not a fussy eater. She loves sleeping on the end of the bed or on your lap/left arm at the computer. She loves to talk and prance.
As I said I will post pictures of her lovely self soon but I wanted to get the message out there quickly.

We (myself, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) triffid_hunter and family) are moving to Stanthorpe and are offering first dibs on our house to the gothic community. It's a BIG house, 3 br with a sunroom out the back that we've been using as a fourth br, there's wrap around verandahs on two sides, the lounge is 2/3 the total length of the house, the kitchen is huge. There is a bathroom with shower, no bath, enclosed toilet, combination of carpet (that is permitted to be removed if you wish- we were in the process of doing it but it's just too big and dirty a job for pregnant me) and wooden floors, lino in the kitchen. There are no screens on the windows and no lawns to mow (gardens are part of the rent) although there isn't really a proper fenced backyard, it's shared between this house and the house behind; the house is on Milton Road two door down from the Caltex service station, with a tennis court on one side and really cool neighbours on the other side (Callum likes to play the drums). The cooking and hot water are gas.
There is a bus stop 50 metres up the road that leads straight to the city, Toowong Central and train station is 10-15 minutes walk from the house, Toowong Cemetary is on the intersection up from us. It's a great house for people who want the freedom to be loud and noisy without complaints, or who want to get in and out of the city without hassles. The best part? You get all this for $300 a week!! Yep, that's the rent on this house. The rent only went up $30 at the last lease renewal in March, the real estate agents are really good (Arthur Conias Toowong), the landlords will fix major things but aren't interested in really doing the place up. We did have permission to paint the walls and do up the floors, but my pregnant belly moved faster than the redecorating. :D
We'd really like to get this changeover organised ASAP, as it turns out I'm more pregnant than we orginally thought and I only have about 6 weeks to go. We want to be settled in Stanthorpe well in time for our homebirth and this means getting things settled here: we're also selling off lots of our stuff, including my cast iron bed and expensive mattressalready gone!, several computers, a HEAP of gothic clothing and boots, household stuff. We're happy to negotiate with anyone who wants to move in regarding leaving things like the fridge and other furniture if that's what is wanted.
Please pass this on to anyone you know who is looking: this house has been rented by goths/ravers for over 7 years and handed on like an inheritance, we'd love to keep it 'in the family'. We're leaving for Stanthorpe on Tuesday morning and will be back Thursday/Friday to pack up the house and attend a feast. I'm eager to be out of Brisbane as soon as possible, so if we don't hear anything from the goth community we'll be advertising it on brisneyland.
Here's hoping this house fits someone like a glove!

I've been charged with bringing back rock/goth/metal/hc stuff to Rosies Live (formerly Club Phoenix) on Friday nights as of Sept/Oct and I want to try represent all the 'scenes' as best as I can.
I know a lot about local rock/metal in our big barren country, but I have no idea when it comes to goth rock stuff. I know people like mzzannthropik and the mercy dolls....I just want to know if there are other big australian goth rock bands that people would like to see up here that I can put at this club for everyone.
Some suggestions of bands in this genre would be muchly appreciated!

She's a colourful, curvy, candy-draped, azure-haired goddess who has been making quite a splash on the Brisbane Burlesque Scene!
If you're wondering what the heck "Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School" is..well, In a nutshell - it's a life drawing class. In a private room in a pub, where you're allowed to drink, and laugh, and there's music. And instead of a boring, silent nude the models are crazy circus stars, gorgeous burlesque queens and other fab creatures.. sound like fun?? It is!!
You don't need any huge artistic ability, just a willingness to have a go and have a laugh while you're at it!!
