The Devil in Love

Since we added The Devil in Love to the long list it appears it has gone out of print! Amazon do have a couple of copies, but we have a couple of spare ones at our flat so if you can't get hold a copy please shout! It's only 80 pages so there's still plenty of time to read it :o)

The meeting will be Sunday 1st June, at the Castle as usual.

Next Months Book

Thanks to everyone who turned up yesterday - we had a really good meeting discussing the Golden Ass. The next book will be The Devil In Love, by Cazotte. Now, since it's addition to the long list it appears to be much less available than it was!! Amazon have about 5 copies and Abebooks.co.uk have a couple more.

Hopefully you can all lay hands on an edition in time- it not, feel free to drop me an email as I suspect the copy in this house will be read quite quickly!!

The next meeting will be Sunday 1st June, from 15.00 in the Castle at Farringdon. Hope to see you all there.

'The Walking Dead Book 1' by Kirkman, Moore & Adlard.

Hi ,

I've been watching this community for some time but haven't had anything to contribute.

But I've only just realised that some of you might be interested in our group reading a black & white zombie survivalist horror comic.  Check link below
lambeth_comics:  'The Walking Dead Book'

It is a good read.

Edited: 15, April

We had a very interesting meeting and if anyone's still interested in the book check  in on lambeth_comics to read and make contributions on the 'Walking Dead Book' page (once I've  written it :p).

Mailing List

Afternoon all!

I don't know if you're all having a similar experience to me, but I'm finding the mailing list (on yahoogroups) to be increasingly
unreliable. I had all sorts of problems posting to it last week and generally find that about half the messages go missing (Mel quite often gets messages that I don't, and they're not in my spam trap or anything).

I have a mailing list over a different server (that I pay for, not yahoo groups!) that I think we should start using. To join please go to: http://lists.bibliogoth.co.uk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/london and enter your details.

Anything posted to the list with regards to meeting details or books will also be posted here!

Thanks,
Ruth

Any suggestions

Hello!

I wondered whether anyone could suggest anywhere to get a cheap copy of House of Leaves!?

I have looked in Foyels and Borders - both stock one edition for £20. Have also looked online on Play.com and Amazon, but they are still pricey on there.

Now i know £20 isn't that much, eps for a decent book, but i am poor right now!!!

I want to get the book soonish as i think it will take me a time to read it......and read it again!

Thanks!

Ia Gaiman!

As discussed earlier, here's the link to Gaiman talking about Lovecraft:

Touches on some things discussed today (I blame it for influencing me), but additionally contains several other interesting points.

Buying the book

Hello everyone,

I thought i would introduce myself quickly.............My name is Shakira and as far as i know i am the newest member of Bibliogoth.

I was at the last meeting, but had not read the book - was a spur of the moment thing!

I got a copy of 'The Call of Cthulhu and other wierd stories' from Foyles yesterday. It's the Penguin edition and is £9.99 so not too bad! (ISBN 978-0-141018706-8 if anyone is interested in that edition).

I look forward to meeting everyone else at the next meeting.......and ill be a lot more talkative this time around!!!

Call of Cthulhu

Just so everyone's clear.

The three parts for call of cthulhu are,

"The Horror in Clay"
"The Tale of Inspector Legrasse"
"The Madness from the Sea"

But they both are just often listed as "call of
cthulhu"

There seems to be an complete e-text here
http://tmoct. co.uk/lovecraft/ callofcthulhu. htm

He seems to have a lot of the stories here,
http://www.tmoct. co.uk/lovecraftl ibrary.html

Not that Lovecraft should be read as an e-text!

March book

Thanks to the few that came down to the pub today to chat about Revolt of the Angels. I'm really pleased everyone liked it - anyone who hasn't read it should do so, it's one of the best books I've ever read!

Next months book is: The Call of Cthulhu by H P Lovecraft.. The three sections that constitute the Call of Cthulhu are:
"The Horror in Clay"
"The Tale of Inspector Legrasse"
"The Madness from the Sea"

I have occasionally seen them published as separate stories so these are the ones you need to read! If other of the short stories catches your eye and you'd like to discuss them to then please comment or email :o)

The meeting will be Sunday 2nd March, starting at 15.00 at The Castle, Cowcross Street, Farringdon.

Additions to the long list are also welcome! Comment here :o)

Long list reminders

As it's a bit back dated now I thought I'd remind everyone that there's a place to leave suggestions for the new long list here

http://community.livejournal.com/bibliogoth/64297.html?view=158249#t158249

Or email Thunder directly as the mailing list remains a bit broken.
