| The community fizzled, but I see several of us are still friended. Should you feel inclined, I have a challenge for you. I don't care if we vote or not - I wouldn't even mind if we just did a particular topic each week. We could randomize choice of topic, even, or take turns alphabetically, or whatever.
But I dare you, I just DARE you, to post a sketch that pertains to:

i get great feedback from my friends and occasionally someone buys something of mine. i created a community where people can post their artwork (of any medium) that they wish to sell or trade. collectors are encouraged to join, as well. the journal is open and available to anyone that wishes to post. i hope many of you (who i know are quite skilled artists and trying to make a buck) will join and promote the community. the rules are quite simple and are posted on the user page. for those of you who have purchased my work in the past, the type of transaction that occurred between us is what i expect to happen here. ebay links and links to personal sites are most welcome, as long as the purpose is towards selling your work.

| Well, most of the people who piped up said they'd prefer it if the winner of a round picks the topic of the next round. So that makes ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) mrh7448's suggested topic the one to run with:
Cryptozoology
I dunno either. Go with it. What a chance to get creative!
It was also suggested that if the same person wins twice in a row, the runner-up should get topic choice the second time. I am for that. What about you?

HMMM... I guess your right since many people expanded on animals and did dragons and such... I guess I would then change the topic to
Literary Heroes, we did villains, but not heroes. 'Xcept for me I say no comic heroes.
But of course that's only if they want the winner to decide.

| I totally owe you guys an explanation. I've been putting it off because, well... because I'm lazy like that.
Here's what's going on.
Battlesketch was in a major slump. The last few contests had like, two entries. It was getting to be more work than it was worth.
Plus I started a new job and I haven't heard from mrfurious in weeks. He's got a girlfriend he's been doin the dirty with so I guess he's pretty busy.
Anyway, so yeah, I forgot to do battlesketch one week and then was like "oh well" and just kinda let it go. People didn't seem to notice at first so I just sorta filed it away with my many failed internet endeavors.
But it seems that people are still wantin the battlesketch... so I gotta figure out what we're gonna do with it.
That is if I can ever get ahold of furious george, the furious little buttmunch.
Anyway, I'll try and let you guys know if I hear anything from furious.

| So... what's going on with Battlesketch? I keep anticipating The Big, Bad Topic but there hasn't been one since I joined - oh oh wait - I get it! You guys are planning, like, this really huge, great, fantastic battle, right? Something along the lines of having the crew from DC comics waiting to go to battle against all of us notebook doodle types, right? Right?

| so I was running some errands today and totally forgot to do BATTLESKETCH today.
So, what I figure we can do is I'll do the poll and announce the new topic next Wednesday rather than doing then Tuesday/Wednesday. That way since we lost a day today, we'll gain one at the beginning of next week's competition and then from then on we'll just do em both on Wednesday and announce the winner on Thursday.
I think.
I dunno. I'm confused. I'll talk to mrfurious and figure all this out.
Either way, vanilla_christ's slightly demented Family Circus parody has won for this week.
We actually lost a member over that! Got an outraged email from someone saying that they thought it was child pornography and whatnot. Oh well, what can ya do?

I also wanna say... like, the point of BATTLESKETCH is for people to kind of battle with sketches... I mean, it's less art competition and more "what can you come up with in a week"... and while I dig seeing everyone's stuff, I think that when you go into your portfolio and pull up some stuff you did a while back, it kind of goes against the spirit of the game. Obviously there's no way for us to carbon date these pictures or anything, so it's not like we're going to make it a firm rule that your picture has to have been drawn during a certain period of time, cause there'd be no way to tell other than a person's word... it's just something to keep in mind.
