Hey everyone.
As you know for the last 5 years, Bats Day in the Fun Park has had a pre event. If you have attended one of these pre events you have gone home with a special limited edition keepsake. We are working on this year's keepsake and I thought that I would get some opinions and ideas from the people that would attend the pre events.

Bats Day in the Fun Park™, the premiere Dark Alternative Subculture event on
the West Coast, starts its 10th anniversary with the “Year of a Million Screams,”
this November 2008.
Anaheim, California, November 8th & 9th, 2008
An estimated 4500+ people are scheduled to attend this year’s 10th annual Bats Day in
the Fun Park™ weekend. People in the Dark Alternative Subculture, ranging in ages from
6 to 60, from all over the world, will be attending Bats Day in the Fun Park™. The festivities
will include the Bats Day™ Black Market Swap Meet, The Bats Day Ghoulish Gala, which
provides live entertainment from the Dark Alternative Subculture and the Bats Day in the
Fun Park™ trip to Disneyland on the last day of the event.
Bats Day in the Fun Park™ has grown into a gathering that families, as well as people in
the Dark Alternative Subcultures, look forward to every year. It is a dramatic change from
the humble beginnings of this event as it started as just a group of approximately 80 friends
in 1999.
Bats Day in the Fun Park™, normally held annually in August, is starting its 10 year anniversary
in November. Then in 2009, Bats Day in the Fun Park™ will move again to its new annual
month of May.
The “Year of a Million Screams” promotion will help celebrate the 10th anniversary of Bats Day
in the Fun Park™. Attendees of the Bats Day in the Fun Park™ events can win scream prizes
just by being there. At the conclusion of the Bats Day™ 2008 events, the “Year of a Million
Screams” will continue until the conclusion of the May 2009 Bats Day™ events. The fun of
the 10 year anniversary will not stop but last a whole year. So there will be special mini Bats
Day events through out the rest of the year until May 2009.
Anyone and everyone are welcome to join in the fun. All information for The “Year of a Million
Screams”, ticket purchasing for all events, meeting spot times and locations for the Bats Day
in the Fun Park™ Disneyland trip can be found by visiting the Official Bats Day in the Fun Park™
website http://www.batsday.net. Over 2000+ photos from the previous Bats Day in the Fun Park™
trip can be found on the website as well. The Bats Day in the Fun Park™ events are not affiliated

I keep forgetting to post about this:
I was at the park 3 weeks ago and I ran into Elvis, who some of you may know, he is the big guy that does pin trading at the park on Sundays. He gave me this pin lanyard that I guess they sold at the park around halloween last year. This item slipped under the radar.
What is really amazing is the pin that comes with it. Yes it Roger Rabbit but look how he is dressed.
I have been told you can still get these on the Disney Store website.

Bats Day on Twitter 101
It has come to my attention that there are certain things you must set up on Twitter to receive the all benefits of having Twitter. I am finding out a lot of this on my own. It seems that some of the people that are following Bats Day on Twitter are not receiving messages from Bats Day.
This is a great internet tool and you are going to want to have it set correctly to be able to utilize it during Bats Day in the Fun Park's "Year of a Million Screams!"
People who join Twitter and make Bats Day their friend will receive super secret info that you will only get from using Twitter. This info will be sent to your cell phone as a text message. A lot of the info that will be coming from Twitter will not be posted on the regular Bats Day communities. You may receive messages about special events, prize information and discount codes.
Now do you need a cell phone to use Twitter?
You do not need a cell phone but it does help. You can still access twitter from the internet. You just will not have the benefit of having this info sent to your cell phone as a text message. Its like having Bats Day on the go.
Example: Lets say you are at Disneyland on Nov 9th during Bats Day in the Fun Park. You may receive a text message from Bats Day on Twitter that could say
"The first 5 people who find Noah K at the Haunted Mansion will receive at prize!"
Now this message will be sent to your cell phone and you will know about it.
There will also be other special little things like discount codes or events that only you will know about. You will be able to take advantage of this by having Twitter.
Ok on to the set up.
If you dont have Twitter yet you can join by going to
http://twitter.com/batsday
and then add Bats Day to your Follower list.
Now once you join and add Bats Day to your followers list, you need to make sure that the "Device updates" for Bats Day is turned on. You can find this in the "followers" section.
This should ensure that you will receive all messages to your cell phone.
Replying to a message from the Twitter website:
Now if you want to reply to a message that Bats Day has made, make sure that you click on the little arrow icon, that is at the end of the message, first and then type the rest of the message you are sending to Bats Day. If you dont do this Bats Day will not know that you have responded to them.
Replying to a message from a cell phone as a text message:
To reply to a message via a cell phone as a text message you must first put at the beginning of your text message "@batsday". Make sure there is a space after "@batsday". Your message should look like this:
@batsday [insert your message here up to 140 characters]
If you do not do this I will not get your response message.

If you have a cell phone this is a great way to take Bats Day with you. By joining Bats Day on Twitter you will get info sent to your cell phone that is just about Bats Day and the events. This feature will come in handy for special Bats Day "Year of a Million Screams" events and give aways.

A good friend of mine was in a bad car accident and their dog got out of the car and ran off and now they cant find her. Please pass this along and thank you. Lets bring moo back home safely.
LOST Chihuahua - white w/black spots - REWARD $$$
My boyfriend and I were in a very bad car accident last night (Monday April 21, 2008) on Fountain and Mc Cadden. My pet chihuahua, Moo, was in the car with us. She appeared unharmed, however she freaked out and ran away up the block. Witnesses say she was last seen safely crossing Highland at De Longpre.
I yelled for help and for someone to catch her, but the gawkers just stood around doing nothing. Despite being hurt we wandered the streets for 3 hour putting up 200 posters last night and 100 more yesterday. I put up more posters today, as well. I'm offering a generous reward for her safe return.
If you return my dog I'm prepared to pay in the triple digits in addition to my eternal gratitude. Please help.
Her name is Moo, shes about 4 years old and between 5 to 7 lbs. She's very smart, white with a near-perfect black circle on her back in addition to other black spots. See photo and email me with any questions. Thank you so much.

Hey Guys,
I have been talking it over with some of the other staff members about the dates for the next Bats Day. Yes this will be a big year and there is going to be a lot of planning.
I haven't set the date in stone as of yet and I was wonder what the public thought.
Would you rather:
1. Continue to have Bats Day in the Fun Park weekend the same weekend that it has been for the last 2 years, around the 3rd weekend of August.
Or
2. Move Bats Day to the Spring months (March / April / May).
Keep in mind that if Bats Day is moved to the spring months(March / April / May) it would not happen in 2008. It would have to be pushed back to Spring of 2009. If it gets moved to the spring then it would stay around those dates.
So what are your thoughts?

I was told that there was an article about Bats Day in the Fun Park in November 2007 Bizarre Magazine. Yup there was. I am actually pretty excited about seeing this. The best part is that I can say that my parents were in Bizarre. LOL
