The Starbucks Questionaire
Since many people are interested in posting this to the community, I'm going to ask that they do it as a reply to this thread. Otherwise, I can see a lot of baristas getting pissed off at other people flooding their friends' pages. Here's the format:

1. Name?

2. Store Location?

3. How long have you been at Starbucks?

4. Your title?

5. Favorite drink?

6. Favorite pastry?

7. Most embarrassing Starbucks moment?

8. Most memorable Starbucks moment?

9. Most memorable customer moment (good or bad)?

10. If you were a Starbucks drink, which one would you be, and why?

If you work somewhere other than Starbucks, feel free to change the questions. I'm going to stick this in memories for easy reference.

Emm..a year and a half.

4. Your title?
Shift Supervisor

5. Favorite drink?
double iced venti four-pump valencia soy light ice chai

6. Favorite pastry?
I would walk on burning coals for pumpkin loaf.

7. Most embarrassing Starbucks moment?
Nothing particularly entertaining. I did walk in on a gentleman in the restroom one time, which was mildly amusing.

8. Most memorable Starbucks moment?
Being given a hundred-dollar tip by one of my favorite customers during my last shift in Montgomery. (that was yesterday! :) )

9. Most memorable customer moment (good or bad)?
Perhaps cleaning up after the guy who lost all control of his bladder while sitting in the cafe. Or maybe the usually very uptight Air Force guy telling me my necklace was "very sexy" while my manager laughed behind the pastry case. Mmmm, no, my most memorable was actually helping out a customer with directions to the airport and apparently being the first reason she had to smile in several days since she had moved to AL from NYC to get married and the guy got cold feet at the last minute so she was headed to airport with no home to go to and all her stuff in storage. I've never felt so good about giving away a cup of coffee.

10. If you were a Starbucks drink, which one would you be, and why?
Tough one. Just a plain old cappuccino, I think. Misunderstood sometimes, but so good if you treat it right. :)

I don't like breakfast food... I guess oatmeal cookies, but that's just because those are my favorite cookie anyway.
7. Most embarrassing Starbucks moment?
I was changing in the office and I left my bra on the floor for my ASM to find... I was mortified.
8. Most memorable Starbucks moment?
When I got promoted to shift. When I opened the next morning, all of my baristas left me notes saying how happy they were and how excited they were. One made a banner out of register tape and day dot stickers. I still have it in my room.
9. Most memorable customer moment (good or bad)?
Some bike riding dude that was twice my size tried to get in a fight with me. It was so funny because he was about 45, 6 feet tall, had ginormous muscles, and he got mad because supposedly I made his drink too fast. He seriously wanted to punch me, and I'm not a very punchable person. Plus I'm a 19 year old girl in a skirt with pink flowers in my hair...
10. If you were a Starbucks drink, which one would you be, and why?
A sample sized butter caramel peppermint mocha frappuccino with extra red sprinkles. Because I'm just plain crazy.

1. Name?
Maureen

2. Store Location?
Princeton Market Fair, NJ

3. How long have you been at Starbucks?
Two years this past October

4. Your title?
technically a Shift Supervisor--I "stepped down" in Sept., but not entirely

5. Favorite drink?
Grande Hazelnut Cappuccino

6. Favorite pastry?
Right now, the crumb cake. Of all time, the peppermint brownie and the molasses cookie

7. Most embarrassing Starbucks moment?
Which one? :D There was time I was closing with one of my really good friends and my then boyfriend (shhh!!!). He was doing mats, and had them all piled off the floor and was mopping. I was bringing a regular a glass of water, and WHOOSH! Down I went... And then there was the time when I complement a customer on his daughter's beautiful blonde curls, and the kid was a little boy.

8. Most memorable Starbucks moment?
My store is located in a small mall. I was closing one night when one of the restaurants caught on fire. For being my first true emergency as a shift, I kept my cool; I evacuated my store safely, and played telephone tag with my then SM and DM. My closing partner and I bonded in the rain with other malls employees. And you know that with FIVE fire trucks WITHIN site, and smoke billowing out from the roof, we *still* had people coming up for coffee. ...No-one got hurt, and in all, it was a truly fun night.

9. Most memorable customer moment (good or bad)?
The day after I learned bar, a woman came in looking for a "cappuccino frappuccino." I told her this drink didn't exist, and perhaps she was thinking of a coffee frappuccino? She said no, and Cara makes it for her all the time--the manager who was fired three months before I was hired. I told her if she could tell me what's in it, I could make it for her. She said that it's my job to know what's in it. So I called over my shift supervisor, and this went on like this for another twenty minutes...

10. If you were a Starbucks drink, which one would you be, and why?
Awake Tea--I can be bitter or sweet depending how you treat me; at heart, I want to be an English Breakfast tea, but the best I can do for you is fake an accent

7. The time I told a customer I wanted to "spice up" his life by offering to put a syrup in his latte. He replied, "You wanna spice up my life, eh?" and raised his eyebrow.

8. Just helping out at another Starbucks. It was a really good experience to see that each individual Starbucks really is different and to see the way other partners interact with their customers.

9. A couple months ago, a customer surprised me with a gift certificate to a local salon. It really meant a lot to be recognized like that.

9. Most memorable customer moment (good or bad)? A guy got extremely mad because we gave him a lb. of scooped gold coast instead of flavor lock. And then just went off.

10. If you were a Starbucks drink, which one would you be, and why? A Chai Tea Latte- I'm a little spicy, somewhat fatty, made with water, and good when crabby.

If you work somewhere other than Starbucks, feel free to change the questions. I'm going to stick this in memories for easy reference.

1. Name: Melissa. Except when creepy or angry customers ask me what my name is and then it's Jane.

2. Store Location: #7974, Riverside, CA

3. How long have you been at Starbucks: 8ish months

4. Your title: barista, about to start training to become shift. Yay!

5. Favorite drink: Currently it's an iced quad venti 3 pump white mocha with nonfat milk and no whip. Hot it's a grande nonfat almond latte.

6. Favorite pastry: The new blueberry coffeecake we've got is awesome. But, I try to stay away from pastries.

7. Most embarrassing Starbucks moment: We got a new shift that was rumored to be very cool and as I was introducing myself, the lead walked over with a timer and said "Hey, you can take your ten, but make sure you take the timer, you need to actually take a ten and not a twenty-five." I was mortified because I had gone over here and there, but nothing like 25 minutes. He was just trying to embarass me and it totally worked. But frankly, since that's my most embarassing moment ever, I'm in pretty good shape.

8. Most memorable Starbucks moment: I was seriously thrilled to start working. My first day, even after the lengthiness that is First Impressions, I could not stop smiling. I was excited and proud to be a new barista.

9. Most memorable customer moment (good or bad): A customer threw an old half empty mocha at me because I didn't give her a carry tray which she had not asked for. Oh, it was awesome.

10. If you were a Starbucks drink, which one would you be, and why: A caramel machiatto. It seems most people seem to misunderstand what the caramel machiatto is supposed to be but that doesn't minimize it's delightfulness when you do actually get it. And even if you don't understand it, it can still be a bright spot in your day.
