You want to use caps/pics? No problem!



Can I take the caps (pics) posted in here?

All caps in this journal are by me (lennongirl) unless otherwise stated. They're all public and I share. If you want something, be it to post elsewhere or use it for making icons, just go right ahead, no need to ask. Comments and feedback to anything would be nice, credits awesome.

But no matter what you do: DO NOT HOTLINK. It's a question of netiquette and fairness. I don't have unlimited bandwith, if you hotlink, you're stealing it. The result would be that my server stops working and no pics would be visible anymore. Now that can't be what you want, right?


What is hotlinking?

If you right click on a pic, choose properties and just copy and paste the adress given there to post the pic elsewhere, you hotlink. You use my bandwith which, like I just said, isn't unlimited. So please don't.


What can I do instead?

Right click on the pic and save it to your own harddrive. Then you need to upload it to your own server. If you don't have any webspace, try Photobucket. It's easy, fast and for free. You can create an album, upload your pics there and use the adress photobucket will give you as a link to paste the pics onto your own journal/site. There are lots of other places where you can get webspace, but you have to pay for most. Photobucket is a good alternative to get started.


I can't see some of the caps you posted

I use different servers to upload my pics. If some aren't visible, it might be that one server is temporarily down. Come back later to see if it's up again. If some pics are down permanently, it might be because somebody hotlinked. I'm sorry if I sound so very picky and anal about this topic, but my server crashed once because somebody hotlinked, all pics in my other journal were gone, and I really don't want to go back there again.
