Porngrind Scares You

I have a couple of INSANELY RARE Australian metal items up for sale at the ArtScaresYou Fundraiser Auction - which is in support of Australian horror and science fiction author Paul Haines, who is battling cancer.

BLOOD DUSTER 'MENSTRUAL SOUP' DEMO, 1992
MEDIA: Original Demo Tape

Touted on e-BAY as “the rarest death metal tape on the planet”, this is the debut from the self-proclaimed “most insane band in
the world”- Blood Duster. The demo was released in February 1992, in a limited run of 1,000 - and was never released in this format again.

Two things made the demo a guaranteed conversation piece in the underage scene, and a top choice for home-cooked compilation trade tapes – the lyrics of the song Knee Deep In Menstrual Blood, which blasted unarticulated adolescent male horror and fascination with menstruation out in a repulsed tirade, where inappropriate humour is held up as avant-garde. - and the Intro track, which supplanted the standard metal horror intro with gasping and squealing audio lifted from climaxing lesbian porn. …the consequent ruckus of distaste, revelry in hate-mail, and word of mouth promo by an essentially repeatable dirty joke - this impressed the US label Wild Rags Records enough to proffer a deal, which launched the Blood Duster known and loved, or known and hated, or known and loved and hated today. MENSTRUAL SOUP is a dish fit for the most dedicated CUNT t-shirt wearing of CUNTS.

AFTERBIRTH SMORGASBOARD #1, 1991
MEDIA: Demo Compilation Tape

Compiled and released by Blood Duster head honcho Jason Pathetic C**t, this compilation is the namesake for the bonus track on Blood Duster's recently released Fisting The Dead Again CD. Notable for the inclusion of a number of bands who went on the become cornerstones of any serious Australian metal collection, at a time when many of them were virtually unknown. Featured bands are Anatomy<img alt="" class="snap_preview_icon" style="border: 0pt none ; margin: 0pt !
Day Of Decay - Frankenbok are back!

After delving into the hell of his twisted mind he emerges believing that in order to redeem himself he must make amends by helping those who cannot help themselves. With trademark thrashing riffery & powerful catchy choruses, this is a complete balls out rockin’ affair.

In support of these releases Frankenbok will be thrashing their way to a venue near you!

Friday 8th August, Blink Nightclub, Sydney, 18+

with Flesh Mechanic, The Curse Of Bert

Saturday 9th August, The Grand Junction, Maitland, 18+

Friday 22nd August, Greenroom, Canberra, 18+

with Mytile Vey Lorth, Rake Sodomy, Point 17

Saturday 23rd August, Cambridge Hotel, Newcastle, All Ages

with Sabretung, Grim Demise, Sagacity

Saturday 23rd August, Cambridge Hotel, Newcastle, 18+

with Sabretung, Grim Demise, Sagacity

Benefit Gig to aid Andy Prior

Five wicked Melbourne metal bands are donating their time and talent to raise money to assist Andy Prior with his expenses, as he goes through chemotherapy treatment for recently diagnosed leukemia.

Andy has made a notable contribution over many years to the local metal scene, performing as guitarist with Darkest Dawn, Clauz, Candy Flip, and Far From Over. Now the scene - fellow musicians and punters alike - can give something back; it's a chance for Andy's friends to help out in a material way, as well as providing emotional support.

This gig marks Darkest Dawn's swan song performance - last chance - it'll never come again. It's also just a great afternoon of metal; Scott Young is filling his own shoes as special guest with Alarum, in their first show in twelve months. Five Star Prison Cell are hot off their recent support for Dillinger Escape Plan; Terrorust grind ferociously with unrivaled pedigree; Belakor warm things up with lushly listenable textures and folk-metal melodies.

DARKEST DAWN
FIVE STAR PRISON CELL
ALARUM
TERRORUST
BELAKOR

25 May 2008, 2:00pm
'The East Brunswick Club'
280 LYGON ST EAST BRUNSWICK

Entry at the door is $12.00

Raffle is $5.00 - with outstanding donated prizes of two tickets to the next Soundworks Touring international artist playbill, and an ESP Guitar!

Those unable to attend, can still show Andy support!!! To make a donation, contact Darkest Dawn's Rick Withoos at www.myspace.com/darkestdawnofficial

Copywriting of this little publicity blurb donated by Talie.
Hi guys,

Just a reminder that we are now mere days away from the first ever Australian tour of heavy metal legends Saxon!!!

We're all honoured and excited that these pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal are visiting our shores for the first time. There's no need to list all of this amazing band's achievements - we all know they began the movement that was the NWOBHM together with equals Iron Maiden and Motorhead; they're one of the few metal bands to break into the Top 40 not just once but a total of 16 times over the decades; that they have inspired acts as diverse as Metallica, Slayer, and of course 'This is Spinal Tap' - the list of Saxon's accomplishments is unrivalled.

Still releasing brutal and melodic new albums, pushing boundaries but always with that trademark Saxon sound so beloved the world over; the word on their latest anthemic single "I've Got To Rock (To Stay Alive)" is that "it's more than a killer collaboration; the front row vocal line of Biff, Lemmy and Angry are a rock warhorse mutual appreciation society." (Murray Engleheart.)

Conquering Australian shores with gigs around the country beginning in less than a week, it's time to get on board the Saxon warhorse now!

Brisbane - Monday May 5 - The Arena

Melbourne - Tuesday May 6 - Billboard

Sydney - Wednesday May 7 - The Forum

who do you want to see this year?

Just a follow up to the last survey. There were a couple of bands I forgot to put on the list & a couple more that arose out of the survey. What I dont need however is a wet dream lineup you want to see (like I can afford to bring out Bowie & the Cure or Judas Priest). So please stick to the list.

Seabound
Genitorturers
KMFDM (2009), congrats to Sascha & Lucia on the new Baby girl
Wednesday 13
The Birthday Massacre
She Wants Revenge
Front Line Assembly
