Would anyone be interested in doing another big swap in September, especially on the 8th, 9th, or 10th? That way my out-of-town boyfriend can play, too. |

Hey everybody,
It seems like the Mix Swap, like everything else in Ann Arbor, went into hibernation during the long, harsh winter. But now that it's spring and there's a reason to live again, let's start swapping mixes!
Are people interested? Maybe we could pick a date 2 to 3 weeks from now. |

Well, after a tentative date of the 15th was set, the only reply was someone saying they can't make it... So how about we look to the 21st? Of October? Or Rocktober, as the kids like to say. |

The RULES:
ONE to ONE swapping. For every ONE cd that you make, you can trade it for ONE cd that someone else makes. I will attempt to have at least one CD for everyone who shows up with one, contingent upon the popularity of the swap. This may mean that you won't get a copy of everyone's CD. That's OK. I encourage you to make friends with folks at the swap, and to trade the CDs at other points or at future swaps. You may make multiple mixes. If people want more than one mix that you have made, they are encouraged to make multiple mixes themselves (and multiple copies of said mixes). THE MIXES FOR THE MAIN SWAP MUST BE PLAYABLE IN REGULAR CD PLAYERS. NO MP3 MIXES. If you wish to make an mp3 mix, make sure that other people are willing to trade for it. I'm not. RSVP if possible, so that everyone knows how many mixes to make (so that you make sure you get all the awesomeness).
Aside from that: This event is not sponsored by Leopold Bros. It just happens to be taking place there. So be nice to the bar staff, tip well and drink lots.
Recommended: Importing your tracklisting into iTunes. Making awesome jackets for your mixes. Recording intros and outros. Making sure you fill the entire mix. Awesome songs that no one else has heard. Not making fun of other people's mixes until you're at home with your friends, at which point making fun of other people's mixes is encouraged. Gloating is part of the fun. Bring a laptop to import mixes that you might not be able to trade for (handy, and several folks did it at the last swap). IF POSSIBLE, BRING A FEW EXTRA COPIES. People might show up without RSVPing. Don't call them jerks, as they might have cool stuff. Anything else? This is the forum for it... |
