Concert at Eurofurence 14

  • Sep. 3rd, 2008 at 10:27 AM
The concert was fantastic!!! Seeing Alec performing live on stage is really an amazing experience! I am glad he could make it to Europe!
He sang so many beautiful, touching songs (and made some of us cry) and funny songs to cheer - the audience loved him! The atmosphere was unbelievable - I am glad that we could surprise him at the end of his performance to show him that also his european fans care for him and love him and his music.

I don't have any pics yet but as soon as there are available (many pics were taken!) we'll post them!

ahoy, all...

  • Sep. 2nd, 2008 at 3:14 PM
Reportedly Alec said at his Eurofurence concert is that Fae Hollow is looking good.

Keep fingers & toes crossed...

:)

Did we make it?

  • Sep. 1st, 2008 at 9:19 PM
Does anyone know if we managed to beat the wolf from the door of Fae Hollow? I was hoping for a rousing "Huzzah!" at some point, but the quiet makes me worry that a moving party is quietly being organized. Is everything OK there?

An auction for the Fae Hollow fund

  • Aug. 26th, 2008 at 9:44 PM
Hello all,

Just wanted to mention an auction we have going to add to the Fae Hollow Fund. [info]vixyish and [info]tfabris, also known as Vixy and Tony, have donated a signed copy of their newest CD Thirteen and we have paired it with a Chimera Fancies pendant specifically created for this sale on the theme of 13. All proceeds from auctioning this special set of shiny music and shiny jewelry will go directly to the Save Fae Hollow Fund.

Please feel free to bid and to pass on the link to anyone who might be interested in buying superb music and shiny jewelry for a good cause.

The auction is here.

Thanks!

Lucky Lab concert

I forget who asked, and I'm too lazy to look it up, but Alec has indeed gotten "Only the Music" arranged for his voice. Mostly. ;) He had to pick a key and run through a verse under his breath and drop it down a key, but then performed it beautifully. The only problem was the person down front who insisted on singing along, louder than Alec, and off-key on all the higher parts of the song. *sigh* I'm all for audience participation on the rowdy songs, but on the soft ballads... ya know, I came to hear Alec. And yeah, I'm being bitchy - seems to be my theme, the past few days. Rawr.
Anyway, the turnout was mind blowing! I got there around the same time I always arrive, when there are at most maybe 4-6 people - tonight, every seat was taken and it was standing room only! What a delight to see such support for them. :)
The big news, which everyone is really waiting for: things look good for Fae Hollow. Alec said that by this point, they have around 50% of what they need, and I'm sure that wasn't including tonight's take. We still have a ways to go, but it's looking possible! Keep the prayers and donations coming, though - my personal concern is that people will get tapped out before we get there. Keep crossposting and informing others - someone posted Alec's concern to a Portland LiveJournal community and got some response there too. I'm going to post there about the other musicians who are giving their profits from their CD sales to Alec - more ways to get folks to give. We must save Fae Hollow and our beloved Bard!!!

heartfelt thanks from Tricky Pixie

  • Aug. 17th, 2008 at 11:18 PM
Hi, everyone.  I'd like to share a bit of magic with you, to hold up the mirror for just a second.

Last night, I got to see my friend Alec brought to happy tears by the love and generosity of his incredibly loyal, incredibly dedicated fans.

Please know that you have made a difference, a huge one, this week, by helping to get the word out about Fae Hollow, donating goodies to raffles and money when possible, buying so many albums in just a few days that Kore had to send Alec to our show last night with a notebook for order taking instead of boxes of CDs....and being so completely open in showing our Bard how much you care for him.  It was such an amazing thing, standing next to him on stage last night as he accepted the reality of your gifts.

You are the gift.  You are the magic.  Alec is very lucky to have you.  And he knows.
There was never any doubt in my mind that as a group his fans would all come through for him.
On behalf of Tricky Pixie, I thank you a thousand times.

edit:  this is not to say that Fae Hollow is out of the woods yet.  Alec assures me that there is now, at least, a light at the end of the tunnel.  In spite of the amazing shift of fate that you guys have orchestrated over the past week, there's still a lot more to be done.  Keep the candles lit, keep telling your friends.  I know you will.

Those of you able to attend Alec's show tomorrow night, have fun!
Hopefully we will see you at OryCon in November.

Location Confirmed

  • Aug. 17th, 2008 at 7:15 PM

Okay, so it Is the Lucky Lab stated on the site.  I have no idea why the first guy not only didn't know who was performing but that they had performances at all.  Little weird.  Maybe he's new.  The person that answered just now though said AJ is scheduled for tommorow.  Yay!

Trey

Which Lucky Lab?

  • Aug. 17th, 2008 at 12:44 PM
There are three Lucky Labrodor locations listed at www.luckylab.com  Which is the one AJ will be performing at tommorow?  The one in Multnomah village said they don't do live performances but maybe the guy didn't know?  Another location also said no performances and the third has a regular band on Tuesdays but no AJ though they said to call back in the morning and check with the manager.  Does anyone here know for sure it's at the SW location?

CDs and things

  • Aug. 17th, 2008 at 12:29 PM
I was referred by [info]unclekage  about Alex's position. I heard him perform recently at Anthrocon. He was a wonder to see!! I hope he can come back next year! I bought 2 CDs when I was there, but because of the circumstances I bought 4 more online instead of waiting to run into him at a convention. I might donate directly later as well. I hope that my contribution helped a bit to save his beautiful land.

I'll be cross posting this to my journal to help him out more.

Concert to benefit the Bard

An offer of assistance from a friend...

  • Aug. 15th, 2008 at 6:34 PM
Are the email addresses on the faerietaleminstrel site a direct line / checked often? If not, what address is? Please let me know by livejournal message or email (myljname@livejournal) if there's a more direct means of communication.

A friend of mine, who is a lawyer, would like me to put him in contact with Alexander and Kore so that he may offer some legal help if necessary.

Thanks!

[info]stardragan has volunteered to run a raffle tomorrow at our Faerieworlds Decompression for donated craft items. All proceeds from the raffle will go to the Save Fae Hollow fund! [info]stardragan is donating one of her amazing hand crafted Fae creatures. If anyone else would like to donate items just bring them with you & look for the raffle table. Raffle tickets will be $1 and we'll pull the winning numbers mid-way during the concert.

Familiar's Promise

  • Aug. 15th, 2008 at 8:56 AM
As I stand at my post ever watching over the Heatherlands, I can see much.

At wintertime I saw walking and scurrying about the faerie circle.  Once it burned bright and she did travel back and forth.  At it brightest He emerged.  Fire was in his eyes and much was to be done.

I know they sang together for Wintertide and my heart was warmed when I heard them.  But I had been told this would happen and was glad

Now, I have listened to Familiar's Promise and am shocked.  Did I not watch as closely as I needed.  When was the circle relit and I was not aware?

Together again they sing.  In listening I think I understand.  Long ago Alexander wrote the songs and Heather sang them.  But they were not hers, and he wanted them for himself.   So the same music, but to his voice, his hands, his engineering.  There is more to these old songs, a drum added, guitar mixed.  He backs himself on tracks.....and She traveled across again to help him.

While my heart soars for them both and I am very pleased with all his hard work, I am very upset that no one let me know it was going to happen.  Think how bad tis makes me look as the protector - I mean really, to not notice the faerie circle lit.....

Thanks a lot Alaxander!!

But very well done

Alitor, Knight Protector of the Heatherlands and re-knighted by Alaxander

A new show added in the Puget Sound area

  • Aug. 14th, 2008 at 3:33 PM
Sidhehaven is hosting a Faerieworlds Decompression this Saturday night (the 16th) and I just got word that we will be having a full Tricky Pixie concert, including Alec!

Here is the information I had previously posted to my LJ:

Faerieworlds Decompression is at Sidhehaven this Saturday. (And no, you don't have to have gone to Faerieworlds to come.. there are a bunch of people coming who have never been to Faerieworlds at all.) Doors open at 3pm; Potluck dinner at 6pm; Concert featuring our much loved Tricky Pixie at 8pm. Suggested donation to the band is $6-$15. Costuming in your Faerieworlds bling or Ren Faire garb is highly encouraged! There will be space to dance.

Sidhehaven is located mid-way between the little towns of Yelm and Rainier, about 2 hours south of Seattle.

For directions or more information email phoenix @ sidhefire . com

Hey, www.FaerieTaleMinstrel.com has had some updates! Among other things, there's a Forum link. A replacement of the old Heatherlands forums, perhaps?

Not exactly. It's a link to ... well, here. [info]alexanderfans.

Several months ago, Kore asked if I would be okay with FaerieTaleMinstrel pointing fans here for discussion, instead of hosting their own discussion board. Partly this is due to the fact that their travel schedule keeps them from being able to respond to the board and/or approve new users right away.

It's also a compliment to the community we've built here :)

What's going to change?
For those who've been here a while? Not much! We will continue to discuss performances, review CDs, share pictures, and pass on the latest news we've heard. I am still the "moderator" or "mod".

The main change is that we will probably have the occasional LJ newbie referred by FaerieTaleMinstrel to assimilate welcome (including Alec, Kore & [info]therealalitor ;)

I was referred here by FaerieTaleMinstrel, what's this LJ thing?
It's an online journal/blog site with a focus on social interaction. I created my personal LJ in January 2002. By September 2002 I'd noticed the many communities for various interests on LJ, and was perplexed at the lack of a Heather Alexander-based community. So I created HeatherFans. The community was renamed to AlexanderFans in March 2007 at the excellent suggestion of [info]cheetah_spotty.
more q&a )

Obviously this post is meant to be a bit of an FAQ about AlexanderFans. If you have suggestions for improving it, let me know :)

For the Benefit of Mister Adams

  • Aug. 14th, 2008 at 8:53 AM
Last winter/spring, Alexander James Adams helped us finish our album Thirteen by adding an amazing set of tracks to our song, Apprentice. The wonderful sounds he sculpted made the song sound the way we had always dreamed it would.

Today, Alec needs our help. To that end, all proceeds from our in-person and CDBaby sales of Thirteen and Shadowbeast for the month of August will be going to Alec and Kore. CDBaby is great because they have very little overhead; the vast majority of each sale is profit that goes directly to the artist. We'll just be taking that whole profit from each sale and sending it straight on to Alec and Kore. We regret that we can't do the same for other online sales channels such as iTunes or Amazon, so please make sure your online purchases are through CDBaby, or in person from us, if you want your purchase to help them. (Vixy is donating art sale proceeds, as well.)

And, as always, purchases at Faerie Tale Minstrel and Heatherlands go directly to Alec and Kore, too. There is also a direct paypal donation form if you're interested in giving directly.

The real Alitor

  • Aug. 13th, 2008 at 11:36 AM
All

There is an existing alitor user.  I tried to see if I had created this user before, but could not get a password sent to any of my e-mail addresses.

I am here to state that this is the Real Alitor.  Knighted by Heather at the WRFF and friend to Alaxander.  No other then I, residing in Everett may use this logon.  I am He - protector of the Heatherlands
=======
That being said, I would like to request of you your support for the Washington Ren Faire.  It was canceled this year due to permits....but we would like to have you show your support for this entertainment event.  Please sign the petition if you can

As you have been to our faire before and know now that it was canceled this year, I ask if you would please sign a petition to support this event.

It was canceled because the owner missed a permit or 2.  I may have been his fault, it may have been designed….but what we ask is if you would show your support for our entertainment event

Please review the following and if you feel compelled, sign the linked petition.

 Dear Friends:    http://www.gopetition.com/online/21087.html

As many of you already know, we are starting the process of rezoning the faire site so next year there will be none of this interference by outside agencies.

Part of the process is public impute. We have sent out paper petitions to business's in
Mason County and have acquired over 200 local signatures. Those of course carry the most weight, but the belief this year by Tim Sheldon was that we have no support.

I would really like to make it clear to everyone on the planning and zoning committee that we do have a great deal of support and even from other areas of the country which in turn mean money coming into the community.

Please go to the link above and sign our online petition. Your support is appreciated. Also we hope you will join us for other events and help us get faire back on line for 2009.

Your support is greatly appreciated.

Just found Out! Help out our Bard!

  • Aug. 11th, 2008 at 2:27 PM
I just got this email from a friend of mine.

Greetings, all.
I received permission this weekend to tell people what's going on
with Alexander James Adams, heir to Heather Alexander.

I'll just lay it out: Alec and Kore are about to lose their beloved - and
inspiring - 30 acres. You hear about it all the time at concerts and in
songs and patter on CDs. They are facing the F-word: Foreclosure. They have
this month (August) to cough up enough money to keep the land and to protect
it.

That being the case, this is a *really* good time to buy any of his or
Heather's merchandise you have been meaning to buy - in addition to the CDs,
there's now a songbook of Heather's stuff. Additionally, he's working on
other projects to bring in funds - threatening an "Adopt a Faery" program,
among other things. Check the below websites for information...

http://www.faerietaleminstrel.com/
http://www.heatherlands.com/index.php?section=1

Please pass this word on to those you think might want to know, and to
choose now to buy Heather or Alec CDs, and look for a new album, and clever
fundraising ideas.

Truly believing that in sending this missive I am serving the Dream,

Mir
