Well, I have no idea where ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) articque is with the colorbars for voting.... but... I'm going to post this week's theme anyways!
The theme for this week is "wings". now, I'm asking for colorbars a little out of the ordinary. Instead of using a series of pictures, I want you to use only one picture. I would prefer it to be a 'cutout' of the character with wings (meaning only a blank backgroun) but if that's too hard, that's okay.
Posts are to come here. I will be posting a mid week reminder on wednesday. Sumbissions should end on Friday. okay, sorry about the subject line... (itches back of head nervously)
So, we all know: go make "hope" themed colorbars for articque's contest here. It's open until next friday (the 8th)
Next thing I want to talk about is advertising and asking for affiliates. If you run an icontest community, or are close to mods for a few, please ask them if they want to affiliate with us!! e_e we need more members!!

This week's theme will be:
HOPE
A pretty open theme. Just make sure your colorbar has something to do with Hope, or something like it.
+ Please make colorbars no bigger than 600x100.
+ Entries will be screened by the mods.
+ We rely on your honesty to create your own colorbars. We also prefer that each colorbar is new - not an old one you made previously.
+ Like any typical contest on LJ, everyone can vote, but votes will be screened by moderators.
+ NEVER vote for your own colorbar, or it will be disqualified.
+ NEVER advertise your colorbar to other's before voting has started/ended. Only after winners are announced are you allowed to show off your colorbar. Moderators will randomly check from time to time the submitter's journal and any colorbar communities they might belong to just to make sure.
+ Moderators are allowed to enter whenever. They just can't vote for their own icons.

OMG I'm sorry I posted this three days late D: I was so busy reading Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne and... well, I won't lie and say I was doing something else, 'cause I wasn't...
+ Please try to keep it around the normal 100X600 or 100X500.... but you can do variations (they're normally that size so if people wanted to, they could take the pic for an icon...)
+ Theme is Schools out/Summer vacation! please stick to it.
Example: Summer Vacation is Love! (or something) I was rather lenient with the beginning one because that could be taken so many ways... but this one is a little more defined nn
+ Submissions will end at Friday at 9 PM... Central? Yeah, I think so... Then voting will open.
+ I will send out a reminder on thursday/late wednesday.

I know! Omg what's going on?! For those of you who have noticed, I did make a few changes. First off, they layout. I finally got around to doing the layout. I used the coding that anime_girl97 so graciously made for us and modified it to my liking.
the next, and rather less noticable parts, are the facts that I made a few changes in the profile and such.
Up at the top, you can see that I have thus named this Version 2.0. The version before it was 1.0. Whenever possible, I will change the layouts. Not too frequently, but maybe every two months, just to add some variety. The version numbers will change.
The next topic, which ties to the last, is that in our profile page, I made another section called 'credits'. If anyone makes colorbars that use certain gradients or - for whatever reason - brushes, I will put them under the credits part. The layout designs will also go under there. As you notice, I have already filled in for version one and two.
Now for the rules, I changed it so that mods can enter. Where's the fun if you can't enter in a spoofy contest you invented? *shrugs* however, like a common lj_community contest, you are not allowed to vote for or advertise your colorbar. The moderators, chiefly the ones in charge of the current contest, will check to make sure that doesn't happen.
Lastly, and this part not up yet, when we do finally start having some winners, I will start posting them in the profile. I don't know how I will go about doing it... for it will either be listed in the profile or under memories, but it will get done and it will have a subsection in the profile.

I changed the community settings so only the moderators, maintainers, and banner maker have posting access. Other members are allowed to make comments to posts, just not make posts of their own. As this is a contest community, only the mods/maintainers/banner maker will need to post something.
If you want to become a mod/banner maker (we sorely need banner makers), please go to this post and comment.
For those of you who were helping me with the layout, this is the sidebar that I wanted to use.

We are at the beginning of a new contest community. I want to do something to celebrate the theme, and so I will ask you all to make a colorbar - anime/manga/game of your choice - that has to do with new/fresh/beginning love. Interpret it at will, but it must have something along those lines for the love section. I will post a mid-week notice on Wednesday.

For those of you who were worrying about making a layout, I was working on a side bar for it. What I had in mind was an all black screen. Posts and such are adjusted right and on the left I was going to have a bunch of colorful pictures of random anime people. If any of you have pictures you want to contribute, e-mail them to me or IM me or something.
As far as the coding, I will need someone who knows how put lj layouts and stuff like that. Again, IM or e-mail me if you can do the codes and stuff like that |
