Alright, this is for those of you that have been complaining that you don't want to have to search for past posts with info...

I'm going to make this post once and add to it as I see fit and I'm going to save it in the memories and none of you can complain anymore ;)


Where did the name 'Avenged Sevenfold' come from?
A rather well-known book called 'The Bible'. It refers to the story of Cain and Abel, the sons of Adam and Eve. The Bible states that Cain's murder of his brother Abel was the first murder in history. It originates from the verse Genesis 4:15, "...the Lord said to him "If anyone kills Cain, Cain shall be avenged sevenfold.".
According to an interview with Matt on the ALL EXCESS DVD, he had compiled a list of possible band names and 'Avenged Sevenfold' was on the list.

What are the guys stage names and real names?

(Edit: This one is a toughy. My answers will not be 100% accurate, because I'm going to have to guess on most of them, but I'm pretty confident that I've seen them enough to guess well...p.s.- the Johnny one is a proven fact. I checked myself)

I thought Avenged was on Hopeless? They still offer their CDs on the Hopeless website!
Avenged signed to Warner Brothers Records in 2004 and their previous albums are still available through the Hopeless website because Hopeless still has rights to all their records released through them. From now on, with the exception of the re-release of thier last records through Hopeless, everything from now on will be available through Warner Brothers Records.

What does A7X stand for? Who came up with it?
A7X is the abbreviation of Avenged Sevenfold. Obviously, the A stands for Avenged and the 7X stands for 7times or 7fold. Rumor has it that Zacky came up with the abbreviation although no one has officially owned up to it.

Who is Val?
Val is M.Shadows' longtime girlfriend and former tour manager. She also did some of the screaming on the song 'The Art of Subconscious Illusion'. She's gorgeous, vicious, sweet-as-pie and could kick your ass with her hands tied behind her back.

Who is Michelle?
Val's twin sister and Syn's girlfriend.

Who are the Berry Brothers?
'The Berry Brothers' are Matt Berry and Jason Berry. They are twin brothers that have been friends with the guys in Avenged since the very beginning. Jason works as their tech/roadie and Matt is their merch guy. Jason is also well-known as having the faces of all the members of Avenged, as well as Val, tattooed on his arm.

What's the difference between The Fallen and The Street Network?
The Fallen is the fan club straight through the band. They offer email updates and special pre-events. The Street Network is the street team. It goes through the label and offers promotional materials and email updates for street promotions. Both are closely associated with the band and you can be in both at the same time.

Don't you work for Warner Brothers Records?
I used to. I worked for Warner Brothers (A7X's label, for those that are under rocks) between Oct 2004 and Oct 2005. I no longer work for the company and have no professional and/or business connections to them.

Are you friends with the band? Can you tell them something for me? Can you help me meet them?
Yes, I'm friends with the band. No, I won't pass messages...I barely see them myself. If you want to meet them, your best bet is to either get into a meet and greet, or hang out near the buses after the show and wait for them to come out. They usually will come to the side and sign autographs and talk to fans afterwards.

Diana is the silent moderator. She rarely, if ever posts, but she does mod the community and make sure no shady charecters come in and deletes any posts that start drama or spam.

Profession: Junior Manager of Popcorn. Also known as three nights at a cinema, baby, the height of life.
Obsessions: Trying to burn the house down (cooking), trying to kill myself (playing hockey), and trying to deafen myself (iPod at top volume).
Kay is the newest mod and oversees the overall look of the comm and well as keeping us completely updated. After being an insistent poster who was more up on most of the news than absolutely anyone else, we decided maybe we should exploit employ her for the overall good of the community.

Diana and Meghan started [info]a7x after going to Warped Tour '03 together. They were on the tour for a week and saw A7X perform for the first time. They met the members during that time as well and totally fell in love with their music, their style and their personalities. After listening to 'Sounding The Seventh Trumpet' about 114 times in a row, over 1000 miles of driving and about 2 hours of sleep, they both agreed they they should start an online community to bring all the fans of A7X together. Since then, it's grown into the largest (and oldest!) online blog community for A7X on the internet!

I remember seeing one show....ooooh where was it...Soma I think? During that song, Val actually came out and screamed at that part. It was so rock star. She walked on stage right as that part came, Matt threw her a mic, which she caught, screamed, then tossed the mic back at him and walked off stage. Damn that girl is amazing.

yea, i talked to her about it before... she said she only does it at "home" and she only did it once and probably never again. :( Sucks, I would have LOVED to be there for that. That girl is amazing, vocally as well as her personality, she is one girl that I always make sure I have time to speak with at warped tour.

and yeah man, this is crazy. i didnt know that you actually like KNEW the band, i just figured this was an a7x community created by a devoted fan. this makes it more real.

I think you might be right....Johnny's last name is the only one I'm unsure about. I was going by some other posts I saw floating around to get his last name. I'll look into it.

Seward is the only last name that wasn't on the STST album and, It's on WTF and COE, so yeah. And I also heard someplace that The Rev's last name was Gera instead of Sullivan, but I'm pretty sure that it's Sullivan.

I know you are the person to ask about all things a7x....could you find out what the piece of classical music that they play as the band come on stage is called....its really bugging me and i neeeed to know. I cant think who its by for the life of me.

the movie is called "Bikini Bandits: Savunt Le Monde"....I'm in it for all of about 20 seconds and if you watch the A Perfect Circle DVD extras, you can find a trailer for it which has my entire scene in it. I played a saucy french maid with red and black hair and black lipstick and chugged from champagne bottles and ashed my ciggerettes into their cheese sandwiches. HUZZAH!!

Sorry I'm too lazy to read all the comments to see if someone already said this, but on the All Excess DVD M. Shadows said that he had made a list of the possible band names, which included Avenged sevenfold. So, it would be Matt who came up with that :)

Also, the header picture in your community is blocking the use of the "Post to community" button, which bothers me, as I would've wanted to post some icons I did recently. So, do you have a nice system to post, or do I just have to be a lurker? Or is the problem in my computer?

Yeah, I noticed that too, we've been working on tweaking it, but it's been difficult to gauge, as each one of us has diff. moniter sizes. *sigh*

A good tip on posting, however, is to post as you would normally in your own journal, and at the top of the form when you're making a journal post, next to your icon and subject line, you'll see a drop down menu that says "post to:" and any community that you are a member of should be an option in the dropdown menu. Just choose "a7x" and it will automatically post to that community :)

we actually never listed where the official band name came from because there's been very vague, if any talk of it's origin other than "it came from the bible...derrr"
The only thing wwe mentioned was where "A7X" came from (the abbreviation) :P
I suppose we SHOULD list it though, hmm?
