How about a story? Story time is fun, right? Well, I'm not that good at it so probably not. But I like sharing. So a story.

[11 Oct 2008|06:11pm] |
Another question from me. Is there a specific empire and whatnot that will buy your spice for more? With my purple spice, I have to go around every star system to find someone who will pay me enough, and then when I find one, they stop paying as much the second time around. Is this just how it is, or is there another way to assure you a lot of sporebucks?

What advice would you offer someone who is horribly deficient in the arts of war? I have 7 species around me, in runs without saving, two of them are going to go to war with me soon (one which I did missions for, good for nothing Spode-licking bastards) and one who's just military (who I think is allied to the aforementioned Spode-whores)
So far my original plan is to drop three Drought Generators on their capital planet and turn it into a T0 wreck, then hit the others with their single colonies before they colonize more. But that's expensive.
All I have is the mini-laser, minor missile and first turret; I've been so busy hunting for artifacts and expanding my cargo and doing missions for others (a race of sentient flies?) and trying my best to terraform this one green spice planet (one more set of meteors...) into a T1 so I can finally add buildings... I'm getting most of my unlocked items "the hard way".
So what advice would you have for someone who doesn't have even the mini-bomb yet and who usually never has more than 150K Sporebucks laying around?
Also, what's the difference between things like a heat ray and the meteors, both of which raise planet tempature?

Hello! I'm a new member here...well, actually I think I've joined for two weeks or so, but this is my first post. I got Spore Creatures the day it came out and loved it--so I just had to get Spore itself, too. I love both games to death. Well...
( The Interstellar Diplomat Speaks )
I guess that's all for now, for I am lame and don't have much to share. I just felt like I should introduce myself, so...hello and nice to meet you all?

| Stupid question |
[07 Oct 2008|01:17pm] |
I'm pretty poor in the space stage, and I've never gotten over 1.5mil. I don't understand how some of you guys get like 35mil and way above. I have trade routes and stuff, but I'm still not getting it. Sorry for being a failure D:

Made a creature specifically for the Space stage on Hard mode (like I play anything else when I play games).
This is going to be a serious attempt. Anyone got good beginning strategies for the Koboko (a perversion of Chocobo, yes) of the planet Landis? I don't want to sit idly by while I watch planets around me get claimed by my allies right under my nose. (and I figured out Earth's general area, but I don't think I'm going to zoom out to it any time soon)
My main problem is getting funds still. I just blew my money on one atmosphere generator and one drought generator, I terraformed one or two planets that SAID they were T1 but I can't put any buildings down because now they say they're T0... or do I need to save up for meteors or ice storms to adjust temperature some more?
So, my questions are ( Cut for Common Knowledge. Knowledge I'm too simple minded to have, I guess... )

| Space stage woes |
[06 Oct 2008|02:37pm] |
Well, not so much woes, but a small frustration. I'm wondering, is there an easier way to find a specific star system besides rolling over random stars to find the one you're looking for? It gets a little old after a while since there are a billion different star systems. Thanks in advance!

| Yay! A Spore Community on LJ! |
[05 Oct 2008|05:09pm] |
I hadn't really thought to look for an LJ comm before now, but I'm glad I did. There are a grand total of two people on my flist who seem to be interested in the game at all, and they're fairly quiet. Given that it has completely eaten my brain, it would be nice to have someone to talk to about it.
My pseud is ChalcedonyCross, and you can find my profile on the official Spore site here. I find myself having much more fun in the creature, building and ship creators than in the actual game. Not that I don't like the game, I very much do! I'm just too picky for my own good, I guess. I want to be able to build my creature exactly how I want and with what parts I want, right from the very beginning. So I've never taken a single creature from cell up through the stages, and I've only gotten one species (which I built for and started in civ) up to the very beginnings of space: the Blibblewhonk, denizens of Glibnibbish, worshippers of Vliblibblesquib the Nacreous ... because, yes, I am exactly that much of a dork.
Picture for the heck of it...

The only things showing on my profile page right now are Blibblewhonk vehicles and buildings, since I launched them into space and immediately lost interest. ::sheepish face:: I'm in the process of deciding which of my species I want to raise to the space stage and then abandon next. Or maybe I'll just go back to creating tribal level beasties, the naked and the clothed.
And finally, a question, just to make this not a completely useless entry: once and for all, is it Spore or SPORE?

Hello, i thought I would introduce myself, I don't know if this is allowed here, I know some comms don't alow intros but anyway.
I am female from Spain, 27, just bought my copy of Spore yesterday. I play it on an iMac ♥
I have just played around a bit, getting used to the dinamic of the game, reading the manual and the official site... On the game I have JUST came out of the water, and my creature (called Nyarlothep) is the one you can see in my avatar :)
I hope I will be able to play well and get used to all soon cos I am not a huge player, I have a psp, but to be honest I hardly play and I had never played any pc or mac game before.
Anyway I am excited about the spore universe!

| Grox |
[01 Oct 2008|08:09pm] |
|
So I'm in the space stage. I was traveling to the center of the galaxy and encountered the grox. Rather than flying away I thought I would attack them for fun just to see if I could destroy a colony. Now I'm involved in a war that I cannot possibly win- any suggestions?

I haven't played Spore in over a week stopped at just getting into Tribal stage. Been too mentally busy with life, work, and whatever virus is going around.
BUT....
I have been working on a T-shirt in Zazzle for myself to have fun with my creations and just cause I have NEVER worn a game/fan shirt of any kind.
I have been working on it for the last few months.
When it is to my liking I will order it.
When it arrives I will put it on and take a picture.
THEN...I will post it here :)
*crosses fingers* I get the design right without too much blurr and pixelation.

After playing three worlds to the middle of the Creature Phase, I decided I should get one of them to tribal at least.
So I sat down this afternoon and enjoyed myself, getting my GehBanana to evolve into AnGrehBanana and through to the beginning of the space stage. I got my craft designed and built and I got off my home planet so I could save, and now I have no desire to play it anymore. I didn't pay attention to the tutorial because I was in a hurry to save and grab food, but I don't really care. I feel like I'd rather start over and get another species through to the same spot. Tribal was the most fun for me, though I enjoyed Civ stage as well.
But I just can't get myself excited about the space stage. Anyone else feel this way?

This is my first run through, so I wasn't very creative in some aspects, especially with the naming. I'm currently about to head into the civilization stage.

| N00b Question. |
[23 Sep 2008|02:00pm] |
After finding out Spore would actually run on my laptop (probably in the lowest graphic setting only, but hey, I'm not picky!), I dove right into the game, and have been thoroughly enjoying it.
Now, I'm sure this is a silly question, but what folder do the screencaps go to? I can't seem to find them.

I have been busy working, and doing the living things first...paying bills....and being outside so I am only in the last quarter of the creature phase. And only on my first game.
But stuck there.
One of my own creations is apparently TOO successful as it wanders around the background and has trampled ME in my current creature mode a couple of times already. The game turned it into this MEGA-MONSTER DINOSAUR and it keeps sitting on me with it's head or body. it moves slow but steady and creeps up on you from high above. By the time I realize it's there it's too late.
Lorifran is my nick in Spore. A better shot is on my page me thinks :)
May I introduce you to 'brontofabulous'. My stomping slayer. Or....my dino-dog of sorts. Apparently no brains but LOTS of srtomping idiot brawn. LOLOL

How frustrating.
Also....highly amusing :P

| A little installing help... |
[20 Sep 2008|03:02am] |
Okay, so! I purchased Spore this evening and excitedly went home to install it. Said it installed fine and dandy, clicked finish, looked at my desktop and.. no shortcut. Odd. Clicked Menu>All Programs and no EA folder. Looked under >Games too and nothing. Went to search, typed in SPORE and nothing. Even typed in EA games and all I got was old AIM logs. I ejected the disc and closed it again hoping it would autorun. And of course, my luck, it did not. I went to My Computer and it shows up as the E: disc but when I try to manually start it up it does nothing. I clicked install or run.. and it tried to uninstall the program.
Yet, how can it uninstall if it is not there?! I let it uninstall once then reinstalled it. Did the exact same thing as before. I'm terrified to keep trying to uninstall and reinstall it due to the DRM and if this effects it or not?
I'm hoping someone is up late and can help me with this. I run on Windows Vista Home Premium is that accounts for anything.
