To hearing BLT randomly in a bar 8 years later and feeling all warm and fuzzy inside, not to mention the flashbacks of hopping around, pants around ankles when rules were made against the swinging of pants.
I love CTY & I love the passionfruit. |

CROSS-POST, so sorry if youre seeing this more than once: dear all williams students, ctyers who know williams students, or even people who live near williams, im planning a visit for two weekends from now (the 28-30 october) and i was wondering if there would be any ctyers there who would be willing to put me up for a few days, or let me know if that would be a good time to visit at all, what with midterms and all happening at a bunch of schools. if you dont think itd be the best time to visit, though, for whatever reasons, do let me know. to all other ctyers taking the sats tomorrow, good luck and godspeed. sincerely, and with much love and sympathy, jay lou.2002.02, lou.2003.02, lou.2004.02, lou.2005.02 |

To going to Colgate and having the tour guide bring me, ohmygoshwhatafreakingcoincidence, to the room of a CTY Love! To jumping him and listening to my mom freak out and scream, "MONKEE!" even before I did. To having the entire tour stare at us as we squeezed each other's guts out. To the smile I had to keep biting back on the rest of the tour as I thought about it.
I love CTY, and I love the Passionfruit. |

To driving around Bainbridge Island on one of the most beautiful summer days imaginable and turning my friends iPod to Amreican Pie. To that feeling, those smiles, and the tears that are sure to come when reality sinks in. To this summer of love, parties, and so much more.
To finally being okay with not having CTY. |

To an ever-fading CTY... To five-year freaks, though I, myself, am not one... To knowing for a fact that I won't make the GCS reunion... To Marxi, and Eve, for trying anyways... To Schuyler, Poetic God and Lord of all that is Photographic... To monosyllabic words, and people who toast to them... To the game, losing it, and being told to die... To the Dancing Queen and the Sex Bomb... To crying while listening to Canon, Quazi-Canon, and any song that makes me think of CTY... To Veggie finally seeing RENT... To writers block...
I love CTY and I love the Passionfruit!!

Yes, Gyro is back with another awful awful cross-post advertising a reunion. Much like the dreaded spammer, however, I have found some success in the tactic. As always, humans, you only have your peers to blame...
So here's the details. We meet at the Information Booth at Grand Central Station at 11:00am Sunday, August 20th. People who want further details, let me know. We've got several people coming already, but certainly there's always room for more.

My roommate and I woke up this morning and had our own little Passionfruit via text messages. We both nevermored at Carlisle (or at Carlisle we're actually called nomores) session 1, but we wanted to commemorate the ending of second session and all of the heartache that CTYers everywhere are feeling because of it. Below is our combined toast. It's originally posted in CTY Therapy. Enjoy!
To not knowing where the past six weeks went, nevermind the past year. To endless random thoughts, becoming who we really are, and getting by with a little help from our friends. To no one else understanding, to the prospect of Princeton, to memories that can never fade, and to everyone with glasses. To ridiculous phone bills, to reading the dictionary, to waiting our whole lives to grow up in three weeks. To having a mock Passionfruit every three weeks so we never forget to toast to something, to everyone we ever met at CTY, and to what they're doing right now.
I love CTY, and I love the Passionfruit.

Allright, folks. Right now it looks like a CTY reunion is in the works for D.C. I'm cross-posting this across the three LJ communities that I'm signed on to to drum up attention. The last CTY reunion I organized in D.C. was quite successful, so I can only assume that there is some benefit in shotgun advertising.
This message is the same as on the other two. The seven o'clock show is completely similar to the nine o'clock show. Try the waitress, tip the veal.
Thus far, the plan is to meet at the Washington Monument (that great phallus in the sky) on June 25th at 11am. This may be subject to change as we go on, but if those who are interested will give me some feedback I'll keep them appraised of any changes and help coordinate plans.
There are also some feelers being put out towards a second reunion sometime in August. Whether that will occur in D.C. or someplace else is at this point indeterminate.
Any questions, comment here or email greeksandwichpirate@mailcity.com.

To graduating high school and listening to the same ridiculous songs that I listened to the weeks following camp: Good Riddance Here's to the Night
.. You get the picture.
To growing up, Moving on, But never forgetting..
[[Whoa, I just read the most recent post in this community before mine and they end practically the same. Weird coincidence.]] ♥

Hello there....
I am a CAAer, and this coming summer will be my last year. From information I have gathered so far, the site I am going to does not have any special traditions for nevermores....I have a general idea what passionfruit is, but can any of you please explain to me what exactly happens? I'd like to start this tradition at my site. Thanks.

Hey guys. I think it was posted here as well, but a Lancasterian squirrel, Phillip Gunn, died during open-heart surgery recently. So I thought we might want to do something. Posted in some other cty journal was a way to remember Julian Stanley, and I though we could do the same thing. I thought we could send a little money to CTY scholarships in Phil's name. Send checks (even like 10 bucks) to:
Margaret Walsh Center for Talented Youth Johns Hopkins University 5801 Smith Avenue, Suite 400 Baltimore, MD 21209
Make the check payable to "Center for Talented Youth, Johns Hopkins University," and put "in memory of Phillip Gunn" in the memo line, or send along a letter with the check, which is what I'd recommend.
