[ using my graphic work ]
>> comment - this helps me know what styles and/or subject matter is most popular
>> no hotlinking - hotlinking is like stealing--this is especially true if someone is paying for their webspace/bandwidth. Save all graphics to your own computer and upload to your own webspace. Don't have webspace? Check out photobucket for free image hosting.
>> credit - for icons, please credit
_blisse or
iconisms in the icon keywords/comments when you upload the icon. For all other graphics a simple credit line (e.g. "graphic made by
_blisse") will suffice.
>> enjoy! - this is the most important part! *grin*
Don't know how to credit in keywords/comments? Here's a short tutorial to show you how!

[ requesting custom work ]
>> icon requests - I only take icon requests when I make a post announcing so. These usually operate on a first come, first served basis.
>> graphic requests - I occasionally take on other graphic projects (like headers for your journal or custom friends only banners), so leave a comment in a current post to inquire.
[ frequently asked questions ]
>> Where did you get the brushes you used in -- icon?
I get this question a lot, and sometimes it is easier to answer than others. If you're not looking for a specific brush (which I can usually id pretty easily), I have a huge listing of brushes I use in my credits/sources post.
>> Do you have the original picture that you used in --? Can I have it?
The images that I use come from a variety of sources. Somtimes there from other people, sometimes (especially in the instance of screen captures) they're my own. As much as I'd like to be able to share these when a request is made, I just don't have the time to upload pictures to share with people. See my credits/sources post for a listing of sites I most frequently use graphics from.
>> Do you make brush sets for PS (Paint Shop)? What about Paint Shop Pro 9?
The only graphic program I use is Paint Shop Pro 8, and therefore do not have the capibility to do .abr files for PS. However, I include an image pack in every brush post for you to turn the .jpg's or .gif's into brushes for your program.
Can I make your brushes into PS files and distribute them for you?
I'd be happy if someone offered to make my brushes into PS files, but please do not distribute them yourself!!. Since they are my work, I'd be happy to host the converted brushes but include a credit line to the person who was kind enough to convert them for me.
>> How do I turn an image into a brush?
This varies from program to program, so I can only tell you how to do it for PSP8, which defeats the purpose a little since if you're using v.8 of the program you can just download my PSP8 brush set. *smile*
>> How do I load the PSP8 brush set into my brush cache in PSP8?
First, unzip the file you downloaded. For this you'll need WinZip. In PSP, go to File>Import>Custom Brush; click the Open button at the top of the pop up. Find the brush files in your files and select the ones you want to load and click Open. The window on the left shows all the brushes that you've opened, but haven't imported yet. Highlight the ones you want and click Add or Add All. Click OK after that and you're set!
>> Will you make me an icon using this nude picture of --? Can you put the word "sexy" in there too?
Sorry, but I am not comfortable doing graphic work that has nude, slash, vulgar or irreverant subject matter. That goes for captions/words that I don't care for either. If you look over my past work, everything is what I'd categorize PG.
>> Can I use your icons in journals other than those hosted at Live Journal?
Sure, I'm not going to be sticky about being an LJ-only icon provider. The only stipulation is that there must be a credit pointing towards my icon LJ.
>> I saw someone who had stolen your icons/graphic work...
Since I can't be constantly playing "Icon Cop", the best way for me to find out if someone has stolen, redistributed or is otherwise claiming as their own my graphic work is for my friends to let me know. Even if you're not totally sure it's my work, let me know anyway; it might be another icon maker whose work I am familiar with and can pass the information onto. Stealing graphic work of any kind and calling it your own, or even not crediting work to the designer is wrong and inconsiderate!
