In the darkness of her room, Octavia lay.  Her thoughts buzzed within her head, screaming so loud, she often had to open her eyes to see if there was someone in front of her, speaking her thoughts aloud.  Dictating her actions to her like a scribe to a general.  
She could hardly remember what had sparked this off....these...feelings.    
Three days ago, Marcus Agrippa had visisted her, with news of her arrogant brother.  She had not remembered much, but she did rememember his soft eyes, as he looked at her; eyes of devotion, eyes of trust.  His mouth that had gently curved into an embarrassed smile when she realised she was being watched, smooth lips unusually sensual for a soldier.  High cheekbones, framed with the most alluring blush.  
In the darkness of her room, Octavia lay.  Her thoughts buzzed within her head, provoking her into reaction.  She knew her attraction was hopeless, as so many of her previous romances were.  Glabius-murdered, Pompey - beheaded, Servilia... a suicide.  So much death, yet Octavia could no longer bring herself to shed the tears over their endings.  What was the use? she thought.   Was Agrippa to be added to this list too?   
In the darkness of her room Octavia lay.  In the dark she surrendered herself, wholly to her passions.  Where no one else could see.
